Modern farmhouse cottage

Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2020 by KiM

I love a mix of eras. This farmhouse cottage was given a dash of modern and I love the contrasting styles. By Kelly and Co. Design, this home includes some beautiful art, earth tones throughout and lots of really textured fabrics, particularly linens, that make this casual and cozy.

A neutral edge in a New York apartment

Sometimes all you need are neutrals. Beige/caramel tones mixed with black and modern artwork make this apartment in New York timeless and a bit edgy. Perfection. By Arthur Casas.

Dark grey and pink in a Swedish apartment

My jaw dropped to the floor when I spotted this apartment on real estate site Lagerlings. An apartment in Sweden that isn’t slathered in white paint! The dark grey and pink is stunning and is perfection together. Also, massive pink sectional sofa for the win!

Dream of a contemporary home, sleek lined and modern, with all the luxury finishes but family friendly? Dream of open plan with walls of glass opening to manicured garden with pool? Does a monochromatic black and white palette punctuated with hits of colour from standout art works ring your design bell? Well perhaps this architect designed home for sale in the Melbourne bayside suburb of Brighton is just right for you. Now if we could just convince the vendor to leave their art collection behind 😉  Link here while it lasts.

I think I have died and gone to heaven. This home I spotted on sköna hem is so incredibly beautiful with floor to ceiling architectural moldings (including a coffered ceiling unlike any I have ever seen) and when painted dark grey, they are even more dramatic and modern. Add in some modern furniture and lighting (the owners clearly have a thing for Knoll’s Saarinentulip tables and Flos lights) and this is a total dream.
