Over the holidays Patricia emailed us about sharing her new home, named Hallelujah, with our readers and I was all for it because beachy vibes is totally what I need right about now. Some details from Patricia: I am a retired designer from Columbus, Ohio.  We purchased a new home in Grayton Beach, a laid back old Florida type beach town but with new houses too. I spent major part of year in a million stores both in FL and Ohio searching for the right piece and accessory for every room. House has five bedrooms and 5-1/2 baths, 3 decks and faces Western Lake, one of the coastal dune lakes along 30A.  We are 300 yards to a huge beach which runs the length of the Panhandle in FL. Our house is in a small gated area (that used to be a petting zoo back in the 60’s) with just six homes that are alike in appearance from the front. Area is known for their coastal dune lakes that empty into the gulf when there has been a lot of rain and it is a very neat phenomenon. I love that Patricia went with more grey tones than typical blues and the earthy vibe is very casual and perfect for the setting. The views across the lake are gorgeous! An all around stunning home, beautifully styled. Thank you so much Patricia for sharing your pride and joy with us.

Christmas in a Swedish apartment

Posted on Sun, 15 Dec 2019 by KiM

With 10 days to go to Christmas I thought I would try to add a bit more festive vibes to the blog (since neither Jo nor I partake in any Christmas decorating) with this beautiful 49 sq m apartment in Sweden dolled up for the holidays. Home of 20 year old decorator Simon Olsson, it’s a delicious melange of white, grey and black and is filled with vintage finds. So cozy and the sparse pine trees and lighting really make it special. Urban luxury hidden down a gritty city lane. Venture beyond the gates and this edgy, masculine interior is all about high end spec and industrial meets art gallery meets downtown glamour riffs.   Dark stone is washed by bright light flooding through walls of glass yet all is secluded and private. I’m real estate strolling scrolling in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton. Link here while it lasts.

This 5 story Park Slope, New York townhouse is perfectly eclectic. There a bit of mid-century, Scandinavian, art deco, bohemian…I love a good mash-up! Stunning from top to bottom. Designed by Damon Liss.

A marriage of modern and vintage

This four storey Georgian town house is a wonderful mix of new and old. Think contemporary kitchen with poured concrete floors, flashes of retro orange, moody rooms in the older part of the house, vintage finds and a myriad of house plants. Fun, flirt and fab.
