Another dreamy villa in blue

Posted on Thu, 18 Jul 2019 by KiM

I have another villa to share with you with some serious Mediterranean vibes. Blues, greys and white are the colour scheme in this home in Capri by Swiss designer Jorge Cañete. This one has an other-worldly, magical aura that I have come to expect from Jorge’s projects (see here and here for more). Breathtaking.

I’m still in London and I’m still lamenting the fact that I can’t afford anything at all but a girl can still live vicariously through real estate listings. I must say that I could move straight into this split level apartment in an old print works factory in East Central London between Old Street and Clerkenwell. Exposed beams, bold blue kitchen and great art. Love it all.  Mitchell Street, London EC1 via The Modern House.

Blues in an Ibizan holiday villa

Hubert Zandberg, one of my favourite designers for about as long as this blog has existed, was tasked with creating a Mediterranean melting pot for his client’s holiday home. He combined a paired-back blue and white colour scheme with a plethora of neutral textures and earthy elements. The mix of locally sourced finishes, bespoke furniture and vintage finds resulted in a relaxed home for the family to refuel in a spectacular setting – Torre Vedra, Ibiza. It is so serene and welcoming.

“The award-winning revival of one of Randwick’s finest Victorian Italianate homes unites classical grandeur with contemporary finesse in this landmark terrace to create an exceptional family home. This grand 7m-fronted terrace has been transformed by interior designers Arent & Pyke and architect Tom Ferguson with a collaborative design that injects a sense of life and vitality into the striking interiors.”

For once the house lives up to the real estate hyperoble. I always like comparing real estate listing photos and those on ther designers’ website. I’m stalking in the Sydney suburb of Randwick and let’s just say I have had a thing for Cole and Son’s Nuvole wallpaper in a bathroom since featuring this house back in 2015.

Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week after week. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it certainly helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Abbey Capital Offices in Dublin by Kingston Lafferty Design.
