When is too much stone too much? Never when it’s handled as beautifully as in these spaces by Sydney interior designers Smac Studio. I’m swooning at the colours, the patterns, the way it is deftly used throughout. And then there are the stairs … and the shelving … and the bathrooms. Contemporary liveable luxe.

Mix some Hollywood Regency, some gothic, some glam in an Indianapolis home with original historical features (including that chandelier above) and the result is very elegant and dramatic. Designed by Tiffany Skilling.

Not everyone loved the last feature I shared of Annie Brahler of EuroTrash‘s work. And not everyone will love this one that is very Hollywood glam with gorgeous marble harlequin floors, lots of gold/brass and blingy chandeliers. But I had to share it because she’s got balls and I admire that. Go big or go home, amiright?

The extensive renovation of this home took place in the height of the Covid pandemic, and was inspired by the history of the home and the Anglophile homeowner’s obsession with all things British. The result is a quirky, unfitted family home that celebrates imperfection, nooks and crannies and showcases a home well lived in. There are character references throughout.
In Katie’s own home, you see her unleashed whimsy and sense of humor, while managing to stick with classic, iconic and historically appropriate touches.
