Diamond Baratta Design

Posted on Tue, 5 Jun 2007 by KiM

William Diamond and Anthony Baratta began their partnership 25 years ago. Their firm is hugely successful. They have over 25 magazine covers to their name, including House Beautiful, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House & Garden, Southern Accents, The World of Interiors, Traditional Home, and Veranda. “Best known for their great diversity of styles in a grand scale, Diamond Baratta’s design projects include residential projects in French, English, and American styles — and a newly inventive Modern style. All include the Diamond Baratta dynamic of enlarged scale and genius color interpretation”. I love their style – it reminds me of a slightly subdued/less whimsical Jonathan Adler.

This is a rental apartment designed by WORK Architecture Company for Sharon Coplan Hurowitz, an art advisor. It is such a bright fun space….would love to come home to this every day.

“Hotels today make you feel like you’re living in the previous century. That’s the last thing I want to do.” – Karim Rashid

The Semiramis hotel in Athens was Karim Rashid’s first hotel project. “The Semiramis is an intimate hotel that focuses on positive energy, heightened experiences, culture, art, and design. It is a place for new contemporary experiences, to enjoy, work, and relax in a truly memorable way.”

Karim Rashid

Karim Rashid is a brilliant designer, and I’m proud to say grew up (partly) in Canada and went to the same university I did (Carleton, here in Ottawa). He lives in a space EXACTLY as you would imagine – filled with vibrant colours, bold patterns and alot of white. See for yourself.
