A renovated family home in Beverly Hills

Posted on Fri, 3 May 2019 by KiM

Fresh, fun and family-friendly is how I would describe this beautiful renovated home by Veneer Designs. A full remodel on an outdated family home was started in 2016 with space planning the reconfiguration of two floors. Moving onto designing the new kitchen, 5 bathrooms, and all the details in between. When construction was coming to an end in early 2018 we jumped in to furnish and decorate the sparkly new interior with a mix of vivid glam furnishings, modern accents, and bold color combinations. The gracious new home is the perfect backdrop for the vivacious family of four to host large gatherings in. Photos: Marisa Vitale

And I had to include this before photo because this may be the worst kitchen I have ever seen!

“An eclectic family beach house was reworked literally from top to bottom to create a comfortable family get-away in Balnarring Beach, Mornington Peninsula.”

Another gutsy project by Barlow & Barlow

I had to share another gutsy project by the team of Barlow & Barlow. This one has some glamourous touches that I’m really loving, like the brass and leather bar stools in the kitchen. WOW! Lots of fun wallpapers and artwork too.

Colour and pattern in a Notting Hill townhouse

Posted on Tue, 23 Apr 2019 by KiM

This Notting Hill townhouse was designed by Barlow & Barlow – Lucy Barlow who studied in fashion and interiors, and her brother Max, a lighting designer. I would have guessed Lucy has a background in fashion as she has some serious audacious skills when it comes to mixing colour and pattern. Boldly eclectic, with a mix of modern and antiques, makes for a really unique home. To note: the bathrooms in this townhouse are fantastic!!

I’ve been strolling scrolling the streets of the Melbourne bay side suburb of St Kilda on my favourite real estate website when I was stopped in in my voyeuristic tracks. I think I’ve found my dream home. Ivy threatens to engulf the walls of this Arts and Crafts home with its otherwise clipped and manicured garden. Inside it’s all designer style with colour, art and the fun of family life. Even better because it’s been designed to be used as two separate dwellings over two floors I can live in one and you can have the other. Link here while it lasts.
