A sense of quiet luxury

Posted on Thu, 3 Oct 2024 by midcenturyjo

Clements is a transformed Californian bungalow in Drummoyne, Sydney featuring a two-storey refurbishment by Some Studio. The design turned a once disconnected interior into an expansive, tactile space that flows harmoniously. The interior reflects the local landscape and exudes quiet luxury through light, texture, and rich colours. Burnished oak and the original deep brown brick anchor the home’s design, while Ross Gardam feature lighting and Brodware brass tapware add refined details. Earthy materials like rich marbles and organic plaster balance solid forms. Major floor plan changes created open communal spaces with a central free-form island and skylights maximizing natural light for a vibrant, modern lifestyle.

Newlywed owners hired Dumais Interiors to redesign their 2,800-square-foot Tribeca loft, aiming for a space that better reflected their tastes and lifestyle. The project involved a complete renovation, offering the designers creative freedom. Key priorities included enhancing the main living area, adding a home office and closet space and lightening the apartment while preserving its industrial character.

Second nature – a penthouse in Tribeca

Posted on Wed, 18 Sep 2024 by KiM

I had to share another new project by Sean Anderson, one that is a bit more sophisticated than his typical spaces but when you’re working with an expansive Tribeca apartment in New York I think it goes without saying that there’s an expectation to spice it up and make it classy. Contemporary but make it Sean Anderson moody. Photos: Haris Kenjar.

A moody Greek Revival home in Memphis

As it always goes, Sean Anderson shares a new project and I completely fall head over heels in love and dream of selling everything I own and trying to replicate his deliciously brooding style that is always the perfect mix of light and dark (but more dark, which is in my humble opinion is the ideal ratio). This Greek Revival home in Memphis has such incredible architectural details which make his choices of colours, materials and furnishings really stand out. Every single thing in this home is perfection. Photos: Haris Kenjar.
