The East London apartment of interior stylist Laura Fulmine is well….EVERYTHING. Of course it is styled to perfection but OMG the colours! From a deep green to an almost bubblegum pink and midnight blue, along with lots of quirky vintage pieces. I am experiencing severe heart palpitations. Photos: Michael Sinclair

A dramatic cottage

“The brief for this project was to refresh and energise the interiors of a traditional Sydney terrace house in a style that would provide a dramatic backdrop for the client’s outstanding collection of antique and modern furniture, traditional and contemporary artworks and eclectic objets d’art.”

Leaf and June

I was googling landscaping firms the other day and came across Leaf and June – the Brooklyn-based interior plant design and maintenance studio of Lisa Muñoz. I love this idea SO much! She offers onsite consultation and a custom design proposal tailored to your space. Plants and planters are then sourced upon design approval and potted for you. Then she will deliver, stage, install and a full plant care guide are provided. The perfect solution to any plant dummy out there who lacks the knowledge and confidence to have a house full of greenery. Check out these beautiful spaces Lisa has ‘plantified’.

DIMORESTUDIO update

Eclectic decadence with European maximalism flair is how I would describe Dimore Studio. Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran have designed and carried out every project in a personal and recognizable way: objects created by historical design masters live together with reclaimed materials and other “bespoke” objects to create and forge a particular atmosphere. A timeless visual and emotional pathway. Research focused on details makes every creation, sign, proposal, suggestion, innovation and reference simple, albeit sophisticated. A language inspired by a set of emotional alchemies made of unexpected choices, preservation, inventions, appreciation of prints, lights, lacquers and oxidations. An uncensored aesthetic where each item has its own power and expressive “raison d’être”, while representing a part of the ensemble as the protagonist. It has been years since we featured this Milan-based design firm (here, here and here) so here is a look at some spaces we haven’t previously featured.

Restrained yet lush

“On one of the largest single residential sites in this bayside suburb, this project sought to restore and rehabilitate an expansive single level dwelling in a generous garden as well as provide additional accommodation.  The high level heritage status of the existing house and the visibility afforded by a corner site prompted us to design a sober and refined pavilion, sited to preserve the large swathe of garden and clad in weathered copper shingles and bronze shutters to reference both the hawthorn bricks and slate roof of the existing dwelling. “

Love the restrained interiors. Love the lush garden (by Eckersley Design). Love the connections between the two. Love the separation of public and private spaces and the luxurious material palette. Bayside Manse by Melbourne-based architects Kennedy Nolan.
