In my dreams you’ll find me here, kicking off my weekday worries at the door like a pair of shoes. My hardest decision at this Palm Beach house on Sydney’s Northern Beaches would be whether to stay in or venture down to the village or perhaps to one of the two beaches just minutes from the door. I had planned this virtual Bali escape for days then this morning I heard the news that flights to the Indonesian island had been suspended due to volcanic ash clouds off shore. Oh no! We were all going to be lolling by the pool by the time this post went live. Fortunately we aren’t actually going. The volcano won’t actually spoil our trip. This is a virtual getaway after all. I have a proposition. Weekends should become weekdays and weekdays become one long weekend. And where would you find me if it was now the beginning of the weekend and not the work week? Why getting away from the rat race and heading to this cute as a button cottage in the Victorian spa town of Daylesford. The Weekender is the family getaway of interior designer Suzanne Cunningham of One Girl Interiors but we can rent it out for an escape as well. Now that’s the perfect plan of action for a Monday don’t you think?

Take me away to the south of France. I’ve had enough of this week and it’s only Thursday! I want to run away to a place in the sun, with beautiful old rooms filled with stylish bits and bobs found at the brocantes. I want to be welcomed by hosts who know and love the area so well but who have themselves escaped the hustle and bustle to their own little piece of paradise. Take me away to somewhere like Camellas-Lloret, a charming B&B in the village of Montreal. Whether in one of the charming rooms in the main house or the garden apartment I know I would be blissfully happy.
