Just when I think I can’t take any more Scandi boho, white on white, bleached wood and black and white prints hung gallery style on the walls, I’m reeled right back in. Except the apartments that have me pinning and filing away images are ones that are a little more grandma boho, arts and crafts meet scandi style with a touch of sage green. I’ll put it out there. I think William Morris wallpaper is so hot even after 150 years. I love this kitchen. Scandi meets Morris’ Pimpernel pattern meets stainless steel (?IKEA). Via Entrance Fastighetsmäkleri.

Winifred Crescent House

Another doozy by Sisällä but this one is darker and has a more sophisticated vibe. The kitchen is a total dream. I have always loved the idea of having windows as a backsplash and am currently trying to convince one of my sisters to plan for this when she renovates her kitchen. Hoping these photos will convince her. 🙂 The interiors for this new house were designed to balance a contemporary minimal house with a welcoming ambience. The interiors have a timeless aesthetic; the richly textured travertine stone combined with dark timber and elegant black steel details creates visual interest. The final layering of furniture, lighting and décor have been selected to enhance the interior architecture. (Photos: Tess Kelly)

Dominion Road House

Melbourne based interior architecture and design firm Sisällä has me loving them all over again with this Dominion Road House project (a previous feature here). The original charm of the house sits beautifully alongside the new interior ‘barn’ style addition. The design needed to function seamlessly for modern family life however aesthetically it needed to be sympathetic to the historical nature of the house. The interior design sits comfortably within the context of the house without being a pastiche of the older style. Careful consideration of the interior layout ensured that the barn was visually connected to the house. Custom cabinetry using beautiful yet durable materials, alongside the furniture, lighting and décor provides a beautiful backdrop to family life. A kitchen by Black Lacquer Design

This stunning kitchen has totally made my day. I am often faced with frustration when my husband and I cannot pass each other in our kitchen without knocking something over/stepping on toes and this kitchen is soooo roomy. The mint green cabinet colour is adorable, and paired with that gorgeous encaustic tile floor, brass accents, double doors streaming in light, an office and bar area (what I would use it for anyway)….it has EVERYTHING. The beauty of comfort

Of the things we women have worn in the name of beauty. Whale bone corsets, sky high stilettos, boob tubes with bubble skirts and anything neon. Trends and torture. These lovely spaces are like cashmere sweaters, supple hand tooled leather loafers and the caress of a swing of silk on your body. Timeless, beautiful and comfortable.
