I will never be a minimalist, but after clearing out 2 rooms of crap to make room for the feral cats (and now it’s piled around the house), I wish I could be. Instead I will stare dreamily at photos such as these and wonder what it would be like. Via Belgium architecture and design firm Oscar V.

This kitchen, dining and laundry room by Carla Lane Interiors is bright, inviting and heck, I might even enjoy doing laundry for a change! (Good gawd how I would love to FINALLY live in a home where the laundry was not in an unfinished basement)

Modern takes on traditional in this Port Melbourne renovation by Austin Design Associates. No that’s not right. There’s no “taking on”, no confrontation, no design conflict with this new addition. Older houses often do not conform to our modern way of living so additions or extensions to the older building give a chance to create something stylishly contemporary. Warm wood tones work well with copper and leather accents to balance a sleek black and white modern space.

As simple as black and white

Clean lined, contemporary kitchen in stylish black and white by Sisällä Interior Design. Warmly minimal, deceptively simple. Plus it helps to have a butler’s pantry.

Clear.

It’s pretty clear. There are cool people in my sleeper government city of Ottawa (I can poke fun because 1 – I have lived here my entire life 2 – I am one of those boring public servants). I recently discovered the cool people of Clear.,  an interior design firm who created modern spaces that are spunky and magazine-worthy. I want all of these bathrooms. Gorg! And while admiring all of the gold bathroom hardware, does anyone know of a sweet gold/brass kitchen faucet I should consider for my kitchen redo? I am having a REALLY hard time finding one.
