Swanky lamp porn

Posted on Wed, 21 Nov 2007 by KiM

Just wanted to give a little shout out to Swank Lighting for being our new sponsor. They have some of the most gorgeous lamps we’ve EVER seen so we were really excited for them to be a part of our blog. Have a little peek at their wares, but beware of free-flowing drool. This is lamp porn at it’s finest.

Dog on a chair and a couch

Posted on Wed, 21 Nov 2007 by KiM

Audrey sent us an email that I wanted to share: “I’ve been reading your blog for a while and thought I’d contribute a ‘dog on chair’ photo of my Boston Terrier, Edward. Edward is actually a girl, named after a female computer hacker character from the anime, Cowboy Bebop. The chair she’s sitting on I found at a yard sale for $7! The other photo is of our living room.” LOVE Edward, LOVE the chair and LOVE your living room! Thanks Audrey!

I love Saturdays!

What a great day thrifting! Found this fabulous 70’s lamp. It needs rewiring and the shade is definitely in need of total body cosmetic surgery but it will be perfect for my living room make over. That’s the fabulous fabric I mentioned in last week’s WINKS. It’s by metremade and just arrived. I had plans to use it on another two lampshades but it must be fate that I found this lamp. Perhaps I’ll just use it as a trim on a crisp white shade. I definitely love Saturdays!

Bourgie lamp

The Bourgie lamp, designed by Ferruccio Laviani for Kartell, is one of my favourite lamps. I love the juxtaposition of the baroque shape with the modern edge of the polycarbonate plastic. So for those who share my love of this lamp, enjoy some Bourgie porn.

Artichoke pendant

The artichoke pendant is a classic design created by Poul Henningsen in 1958. It is such a stunningly beautiful light, and due to it’s popularity (and hefty price tag), has often been replicated. It looks incredible in modern settings, and makes quite a striking focal point.
