Pattern on pattern and a kaleidoscope of colour. Antiques and family hand me downs reloved. Books and flowers from the garden, pleated fabric lampshades, plenty of brown furniture and an army of floor rugs. The English do it so so well. Berkshire House by Vanrenen GW Designs.

I continue to be awestruck by the creative genius of Frances Merrill and her firm Reath Design. You will be hard-pressed to find anyone who is willing to go this bold with colour and pattern. Layered and lavish, liveable and lasting, lush and luxurious. LOVE. This exquisite four-bedroom apartment overlooks the banks of the River Thames from Chelsea’s esteemed Cheyne Walk. It is situated on the coveted west and south-facing first floor of Carlyle Mansions and exceeds 2,250 sq ft internally, with rare step-free lateral space and the convenience of an on-site porter. I spotted this home on Elle Decor Spain and knew it was a MUST share. Located in Vejer de la Frontera, a Spanish hilltop town and municipality in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, it is the summer residence of designer Gaspar Sobrino, and is a maximalist’s dream. The beautiful tile floors, unique chandeliers, artwork and rooftop terrace make this home really special.

It won’t surprise you after scrolling through these photos that London-based designer Susan Deliss designs her own range of fabrics and sells ikats, silk embroideries, kilims, velvets and linens, antique, vintage and new.  One-off furniture, both antique and made to order and upholstered in Susan Deliss’s fabrics are complemented by limited edition cushions and hand-made and lined silk lampshades,  decorative objects and fine art. Her portfolio has me desperately wanting to add so many pretty patterns in my home, which I tend to shy away from. Clearly I am missing out.
