Move towards the light

Posted on Fri, 30 Aug 2019 by midcenturyjo

It’s a little slice of heaven. A NYC loft with fabulous bones and an interior by design firm Sissy + Marley. Light floods in through arched windows while oak floors and exposed beams enhance the industrial feel. One moment it’s dramatic, the next serene but always a chic, always inspiring, family home. If luxury loft living in the Big Apple has been a dream of yours I suggest you move towards the light.

Warm wood and neutrals in a Beijing townhouse

Posted on Thu, 29 Aug 2019 by KiM

A&B Curated is the design studio of Antiques & Boutiques, the bespoke travel and lifestyle company created by Lisa Richardson and Niki Robinson – two life loving fashion designers who relocated to Barcelona from London and Milan in 2007. This 4 story townhouse in Beijing is a beautiful mix of modern and vintage which is their signature combination. The first stage of this project was to open up the spaces in order to make the most out of the available light. By enclosing some of the garden areas we were able to bring the outdoors inside. Finally, we designed a harmonious interior by emphasizing the clean lines and using a subtle yet beautiful colour palette. To bring warmth and personality to the apartment we sourced a combination of antique and contemporary pieces throughout Europe as well commissioning custom-made pieces to create a welcoming, contemporary & comfortable atmosphere.

The Brooklyn home of designer Delia Kenza (that she shares with her 2 daughters and artist and choreographer husband Júlio Leitão) is…everything. Absolutely breathtaking original features are paired with modern features like a sleek kitchen and jaw dropping black stained chevron hardwood floors. Add in lots of unique art by Júlio and other artists and ethnic accessories and you have the most eclectic and unique home filled with whimsy and character. While I am on she-shed painting hell day 3 of 4, please enjoy the beautiful eclectic home of interior and landscape designer Celia Gómez Puerta and her family, located in the outskirts of Madrid. Her love of graphic prints and photography art make me an instant fan. Via Nuevo Estilo. (Photos: Patricia Gallego)
