With its high contrast detail – a black and white palette and interesting play of texture, soft on hard texture, this Melbourne residence involved a renovation and extension to the double fronted Victorian on Winter Street in Malvern for two professionals and their growing family. The furniture includes a mix of designer furniture and lighting, eclectic collected vintage pieces and custom-made items designed by the designers B.E Architecture.

Shaped almost like a child’s drawing of a house these two pavilions have been positioned to take advantage of the views and the sunlight, providing that all important connection between inside and out. Love the subtle cloud references in this stylishly simple apartment in Sydney by Ioanna Lennox Interiors. I’m quite sure living here would at times be like living in the clouds.

How fun is this sitting room?!?! Divided with a steel and glass wall, 2 spaces were created. A sophisticated sitting area and a funky media room complete with built-in bar! LOVE THIS!!! By London-based Tor Interiors.

Sitting lightly on its site this modern take on a log cabin just shows that “cabin” does not equate with roughing it. Simple, stylish and taking advantage of a stunning view. What more could you want? How about a boathouse studio as well? Northshore Cabin by Pearson Design Group.
