I wanted to feature this home a few months ago when its interior designer Veronica Martin had contacted me but I had to wait for its appearance in the spring issue of Ottawa magazine. Now that it has hit the streets, here it is! I love this addition and renovation of an 80 year old home in the Wellington Village neighbourhood of this fine city of Ottawa. It brings some modern amenities and sophistication to an older home (that coincidentally looks like it may have been designed by the same architect as my home!) while keeping the stunning features like leaded glass windows and curved ceilings intact. The new kitchen is an absolute gem – the simple white glossy cabinetry is taken to another level with the black hardware making a subtle graphic impact. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a four day Easter break than exploring the über fabulous city of Sydney especially if the base for my foray was this apartment at XXV Challis. From the exquisite interiors by Pamela Makin to its perfect position in Potts Point I’d be tempted not to stray too far. Actually I think I’d never want to leave. Soothing shades of white, cream, blue, grey and green. This is beach decor at its absolute finest, in this California beach house by interior designer Becki Owens. It is classy yet weathered, with lots of cozy upholstery and bits of sparkle and pattern to catch your eye. This is just super pretty.

I had to share another space created by The New Design Project because I adore neutral spaces that have some spunk and are not the least bit dull. This New York rental apartment is anything but dull. It has tons of personality through quirky art and furnishings despite having a very limited colour palette. This is fantastic! (More details here, photos by Alan Gastelum)
