Rachael Gowdridge set up her design studio in 2021 with the desire to merge a wealth of knowledge in crafting experiences across high-end interiors with a creative, friendly and approachable manner for her clients. A mix of old and new, very neutral palette, wood accents…all creating a very calming and easy-going vibe that is timeless.

No.8 is a carefully restored townhouse, the result of a meticulous three-year renovation. From the outside, its heritage features like the new roof, sash windows, and lime-rendered facade honour the conservation area’s history. Inside, a bold transformation unfolds, showcasing thoughtful craftsmanship with custom timber doors, double-height spaces, and an indoor-outdoor flow. HUTCH‘s vision turned this once-dark home into a vibrant sanctuary, blending modern and natural elements. Iconic collectibles, warm textures, and playful, curated spaces create a uniquely inviting interior, bridging classic elegance and contemporary design in an inspiring urban revival.

Warm, earthy, neutral, comfortable and a wee bit monastic. This sort of vibe is one of the rare times I appreciate a white backdrop. A really pretty Spanish home in San Jose designed by Evgenia Merson. Photos: Jessica Burke.

Welcome to this serene country club retreat designed by Moore House Design for busy Boston professionals who have cherished summers at the Aquidneck Club in Rhode Island for over 20 years. They jumped when a rare condo in the historic clubhouse came up for sale. While the exteriors reflected New England shingle-style architecture, the interiors required transformation from outdated 90s finishes. The redesign balances their minimalist aesthetic with vintage lighting, clean lines and unique art for a modern, comfortable space.

Nestled alongside the riverside in Southwest London, this comprehensive renovation of a Victorian terraced residence exudes tranquillity, elegance, and sophistication. The spatial planning was meticulously crafted with the needs of family life in mind, prioritising the optimisation of natural light and riverside views. This involved strategically removing obstructing walls and thoughtfully designing layouts to seamlessly draw the eye outdoors. Crafted specifically for the space, bespoke furniture intertwines with carefully chosen antique pieces, complemented by layers of soft, ambient lighting and sumptuous fabrics in muted spring hues, creating an atmosphere of timeless luxury. The addition of a newly formed basement floor has significantly enhanced the available space, accommodating a secondary kitchen, family sitting room, gym, wine cellar, and utility rooms.
Designed by Murudé, this home is so serene and the design so thoughtfully executed. Imagine a busy day at work and walking through the front door in the evening to this. *sigh*
