Falling

Posted on Mon, 18 Aug 2014 by midcenturyjo

It appears so deceptively simple but don’t fall for that. Almost falling down the site. Almost falling from level to level. Almost falling into the sea. Definitely falling in love with this house and its amazing view. Fall House at Big Sur, California by Fougeron Architects.

I really must stop daydreaming about sea side escapes. I really should get off Contemporary Hotel‘s website. I really should get back to reality. I really should just book a few days somewhere. Might stop the daydreams if they actually came true. Might just have to go here. Rockridge. I have coveted this Palm Beach, Sydney home for years.

The garden library

Posted on Mon, 19 May 2014 by midcenturyjo

Down at the end of the garden is where you would normally find a folly. But how can you call a garden library a folly? My head is swimming with possibilities. Just where in my garden will I place mine?

Summer is here, it is hot and I LOVE it, and I want to spend every single minute I can outdoors. Being cooped up indoors for 6 months really gets to me. So over this weekend (a long one for us Canadians), enjoy the warmth, the sun and your favourite beverage. I will be heading to my sister’s cottage tomorrow to help christen cottage season, but in the meantime you can find me at any one of these locations… 😉
