Justine Hugh-Jones encore

I feel like diving into these images. Hold my breath, dive through my computer screen and surface refreshed in rooms that hum with vibrancy and personality. Sometimes just a glimpse of something inspiring and beautiful clears my mind and stirs my design soul. Like interior designer Justine Hugh-Jones‘ new website. Scroll and drink deep, scroll and drink deep. Tumble turn and do it all over again.

Andersson-Wise

I was super excited to stumble upon the website of Austin, TX architects Andersson-Wise. Why you may ask? One of their projects just may be my future home (the home before the jump….well, a variation of it anyway, and minus the water view dammit). Their homes are rustic and modern and works of art. Each one a dream. Well, my dream anyway. And how cool is that house lined with wood stacks?

there’s no place like…

It’s a Friday afternoon. I just got off work, and I’m exhausted. I need to relax, catch my breath and get off the grid. I pack a bag with nothing but t-shirts and sweatpants. I drive about an hour and stop at a market to pick up some fresh produce. I drive a little more and pull into the driveway. I grab my bags and walk up to the door….of this home. And do nothing for 2 full days. yesssssssss….. (thank you John Robert Nilsson)

Arthur Casas

An overdose of exceptional architecture with today’s firm. São Paulo and New York based Studio Arthur Casas draws inspiration from Brazil’s history of modernist design, takes a considered approach to the environment and a holistic approach to the many layers of their designs from furniture to urban planning. It’s cosmopolitan, contemporary and just a little sexy. It was hard to narrow down which of the projects to feature. Finally I chose the Qunita Da Baroness house in São Paulo. I think you will understand why.

Murrakaia

We received an email from a reader named Dane recently, and as today is a holiday here in Canada and I’m wishing I could be hanging out at my sister’s cottage enjoying the scenery instead of home doing work and chores, I thought this was a perfect post (that might however have me in tears). Thought you would love this property. An old friend of mine Jenny Inch owns this home, she is a landscape designer (as you can tell from the images). This remains the most beautiful home I’ve had the pleasure of visiting, and the gardens are amazing. Enjoy! Enjoy we shall! Murrakaia is located in Dulong, Queensland, Australia and is currently for sale. It’s located on 3 private acres and the home features two large bedrooms, a generous study, two bathrooms and two living areas, and it’s only 90 minutes from Brisbane. The landscaping is out of this world. It’s absolutely gorgeous and Jenny is obviously talented in that area.
