Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 1 Jul 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

I just love your pets on furniture. This may be because our beautiful dog Curly Sullivan (an Australian working dog) spends most of his time on ours.
– Caroline (Barossa Valley, South Australia)

Hjalmar is now 1 year old and full of energy. But every now and then he relaxes. For a little while 😉
– Janne (Norway)

Oliver (four months old), and Foxy (two years old), both Dachshund mixes, settle in for a nap on the sofa.
Melanie (St. Petersburg, FL)

Our Mutt Darby enjoys nothing more than sitting atop the back of a sofa…
– Liz (Durham, North Carolina)

This is Martini, doing what he loves best: sleeping on living room chairs, and exposing himself.
– Anna (Rochester, NY)

Wanted to share a picture of my just recently renewed chair (cushioned stool) which almost immediately was occupied by my 5 years old cat Kafka. All long story about the chair is in my blog.
– Egle (Vilnius Lithuania)

This is my beautiful Bear on my all time favourite chair.
– Kirsten

Meet Pierre, my 19 week old toy poodle sleeping sofa below my 70’s wool hanging aka the ugly bearded bloke.  I think he is dreaming of stealing socks or getting his chompers on the biggest chew toy ever hanging above him.
– Erin

this is Roscoe, lounging on our Cognita Bench–please note his real bed in the background. He is a 2-year-old Boston Terrier who enjoys a happy existence in New Orleans.
– Maribeth

Not technically furniture unless you consider “couch potato”…dog is Tucker and under him is Patrick

This is my dog Ginger enjoying the luxurious bed at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.
– Stacy

This is Elvis… craigslist-addict and hoarder-of-giant-fancy-things.
Victoria (Philadelphia, PA)

Here is Molly our 10 month old spoodle enjoying a nap in her favourite chair in front of our fire.
– Michelle (Geelong, Victoria, Australia)

These are our two miniature schnauzers, Poppy and daughter Slipper, caught relaxing big-time on the sofa here in London. Slipper’s ‘arm’ resting on the B&B Italia table is just so sophisticated – not a word we’d normally associate with her at just over a year old!
– Michael & Dylan

Hank and Olive on a date….shortly before she tried to kill him. Ahhhh, young love.
– Leah

This is our dog, Noir, on his favourite sofa, the one in the library.
Another one in the living room.
Mariela and Gastòn (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

Here are a couple photos I took yesterday during a heat wave (my house doesn’t have AC). First, Lucky letting it all hang out in the bedroom. Next up, Felix chilling out on the retro fibreglass chair on the backyard deck.

I’d like to dedicate this post to Muffy, my twin sister’s cat. Julia had to have her put down on Thursday because she was about 20 years old and her age was really taking a toll. Muffy was a cool, easy-going cat and we’ll miss her.

What do I love most in this picture? Curious Gordie? The skylight? Freshly cut roses? The groovy chrome chair? The tole table? It’s Gordie, by a hair.
– Priscilla

My best friend Molly, on what is now “her” chair.
– Brandi (Dallas, TX)

My dog’s name is Oggy and he is 1 year and 2 months old (14 months). He is a Labrador. That’s my bed. Coffee and cream coloured.
– Saumya

Stella the French Bulldog (1 year old) has recently claimed ownership of our armchair so she can check out what’s going on on the street below (we’re on the fifth floor).
– Emma (Bilbao, Northern Spain)

The other day I was taking photos of a corner of my living room and noticed one of the old boyz Edgar curled up on my Green Light District chair that I always have covered with a (faux) sheepskin rug. Since the rug perfectly matches his odd fur (fluff really) I had to snap some photos.

This is Stella 13 yo Jack Russell improving her tan on a glorious sunny day in paradise!!

– Maryse (Whitsundays Qld Australia)

This Fredo, our 4 year old King Charles Cavalier
– Cara (Rochester NY)

Luke sleeping on my mom’s bed

My dog’s name is Oggy and he is 1 year and 2 months old (14 months). He is a Labrador. That’s my bed. Coffee and cream coloured.

After our 16.5 yrs old cats died, we were devastated. The only positive thing to come out of it – is that we were able to save now 2  cats from SPCA SF. We found Remy and Gus (not pictured). They are two beautiful, very sensitive 8 yrs old cats, that are still not aware where they are allowed (or aware and don’t care). Remy is especially fond of this Minotti green armchair.
– Ophir

I just snapped this photo of Mimin in my living room window, Lucky on my sheepskin covered teak bench and Felix the porker on my Normann Copenhagen Tablo table.

Winslow (6) and Theodore (11 weeks), both golden retrievers, sit together after a romp in the ocean in arch cape, or.  Winslow would never dream of resting on the ground and our new puppy mirrors everything he does!
Big golden and little golden napping on furniture.

– Emma

Here is a picture of Penelope the almost 2 year old toy poodle sitting on my new-to-me mid-century modern ottoman.  She loves to photo-bomb pictures I take for my blog!
Sarah (Washington, DC)

Here’s Roxie claiming her spot on the antique dresser that my boyfriend and I recently refinished… and then re-distressed.
– Andrea (Glen Ellyn, IL)

This is my boy Dooley who didn’t mind finding a thrift store accordian on his favorite chair from Ikea, he fell asleep on it anyway. Dooely just passed away this last weekend and is sorely missed.
Here is Bunny sitting on a mid-century chair I got for free from my boss.
– Dana (Tuscon, AZ)

Mini’s decided the Cesca chair makes for some good porch naps.
– Heather (Atlanta)

Here are my dogs Milo (jack Russell) and Percy (beagle) and a cameo from Mr.Frost the strange Siamese cat. They provide us with endless entertainment!!!
– Saffy

Brando is enjoying the softness of the microsuede on the chair arm.
Wing back chairs are sooo cozy!

– Patricia (Portland, Oregon)

The picture is of Butus relaxing on my bed. It seems he much prefers it to his.
– Liz (Utah)

This is Bandit our long haired chihuhua this was his grammy’s chair and now is his… he waits patiently here till we are done with dinner so he can have his evening snack.  Its now known at our house as Bandit’s chair
– Maritza (Florida)

These are my little babies! White one is a girl whose name is Frosty and the grey one is a boy who goes by Babu! We’re from Bombay and this them begging me to stay home and not go to work!
– Sanya

This is my sister’s new puppy enjoying their new couch. Skippy loves to burrow among the pillows but he posed nicely for this shot!
– Cheryl

This first shot is what I call “You stay on YOUR side and I’ll stay on MINE!”  It features my puggle named Tipper and my shepherd-mix named Dash.
This next picture is Tipper and Dash again, along with my chihuahua-mix named Shooter, who is on the floor like a DOG.  (As in: if my wife rescues one more dog; I’m going to shoot her!)
This picture is of my shepherd-pitbull mix named Shadow, and good old Tipper again!
This one is of Tipper with a shepherd-mix rescue named Darby.  She is Shadow’s mom and was pregnant when I rescued her.
Last one.  I promise!  I took this next picture to show my best friend my new bedding.  Shooter just HAD to be in it!
– Val (Bend, OR)

I have attached a picture of my handsome 3yr old, blue- eyed, miniature dapple dachshund, Cornelius! I was moving furniture around in the living room to vacuum when he jumped up on my leather couch onto a pillow and made himself comfy while I cleaned. With his crossed paws and his name tag facing the correct way, it made it picture perfect.
– Cait (Windsor, ON)
