Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 11 Feb 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

This is Charlie & Mocha
– Hien

Here are two photos of my beautiful Boxer Mix, Daisy. 6 years old from Saint Louis. She always looks so regal to me.
– Karen

Here’s a photo of my sister’s pets, India (the cat) and Rufino (the dog) catching a few rays on and near her mid-century chair which she had covered with a Brazilian coffee bean sack.  Rufino is an ex street dog who followed my niece home one day and never left.  Can’t say I blame him!
– Deb (Bariloche, Argentina)

Please find enclosed two pictures of my dog Trinket a tiny Yorkie who doesn’t like to be on the floor but prefers sofas or chairs, if not my arms. These dogs aren’t called “lap dogs” for nothing! The first picture (on the leather chair) was taken at my mother’s place, in the Alps region of France (Savoie) and the second picture (on the grey outdoor chair) was taken on an hotel balcony in Spain (Catalonia).
– Christele (Savoie, France)

Nisha, our slightly neurotic black cat sits atop the living room couch and Lona, our beloved tailless tortie on top of the dining room table.
– Joanna (Pennsylvania)

This is my sweet 8 yr old Maggie…..she spends every morning over looking her backyard on the comfy La-Z-Boy Sofa
– Debi

This is Sookie (in Seattle WA) and she likes to build forts. The Big Brown Chair is her favorite, but she can work with almost any piece of furniture, and has many different “poses”.
– Eileen

Hendrix makes the Gus Modern sectional his home.
– Erin (Austin, TX)

It’s my birthday after all! Tierra 1 year old, airedale-standard poodle
– Claudine (Granby, Québec)

These are my dogs, Penny (white one) and Lady (black one) sitting on their favorite couch. I know there’s a blanket on the couch, but the couch is very appreciative that it is!
p.s. And no, I did NOT put them this way!
– Maria

This is Pippa resting on her favorite piece of furniture after a hard day doing what she likes best: playing and being curious.
– Raluca

This is Sancho, fooling around on our brown leather couch.
– Raquel (Santo André, Brasil)

Repeat offender. That’s what I am. I do have the excuse that we got a new kitten. His name is Christmas (the white one) as he popped into our back garden Christmas day. Pics are on the back enclosure. I sent you a few shots of him and one that includes Fat Farrah (black one).

I’m enclosing a photo of my two beloved dogs Siga (Lurcher) and Grikis (Italian greyhound/Whippet cross) sleeping on our couch.
– Lina

Scott, sleeping… he was 9 pounds when we first allowed him in bed, not thinking that one day he would be 65… featuring my Hay quilt
– Helene (Montreal)

Lulu, a blue Chihuahua, looking like the Great Sphinx on her favourite chair.
– Bruce

Our newly adopted pup enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon soaking up some rays on our freshly washed sheets.
– Ashley (Philadelphia)

This is Bruno our French Bulldog… Sitting pretty on our modern white chair. Everything looks better with him on it 🙂
– Danielle (Los Angeles, CA)

I send you a photo of a “rabbit on a sofa”. Her name is “MOG”. She loves the sofa very much. So, she always lies down on the sofa which wore the cloth of the paisley motif. The portion of a gently-sloping arm is her fixed position.
– Shusaku (Tokyo, Japan)

This is Jake. Always ready to bark at anything that might not be quite right in his world. The fuzzy zebra blanket is his favourite.
Lisa

Milly the boxer, in San Francisco, waiting patiently to go for a walk.
Sarah

This is Wee Joe hanging out in his favourite vintage sweater on his favourite turquoise retro rocker.
Cindy (Prince Edward County, ON)

This is one of my boss’ dogs, Lucy, sitting on his chair in his office.  Where I work, iOffice, Inc., we bring our dogs to the office with us, which creates such a joyful environment!  Lucy may be the smallest dog here, but she definitely runs the show!
– Kaitlan (Houston, TX)

This is Oliver. I was house sitting him in our furniture showroom/studio and he was in a little bit of shock when I started moving around our furniture. He’s here under the prototype of our Concentric Coffee Table.
Tamara

This is Lady and we saved her from under a house. She has the softest personality.

This is Daisy-Cat-… rocking out with his paw out on our new Danish teak and tweed chair!” ~wool blanket is from holland (sourced by Mac Cool’s Re-Use) Pillow by friends at SparkBox Studios
– Stacey

This is Gromit the dog sleeping on a friday morning. As his master has left for work, the place in bed obviously needs to be filled.
Märt (Tallinn, Estonia)

Attached is a photo of my coonhound Scarlett relaxing in her favorite spot, the Room and Board loveseat in my office. Look at her big sad eyes; I just can’t bring myself to ask her to find another (more practical, not-white) perch. (Notice the branding on her ear. She used to be a hunting dog until she either got lost or was abandoned. We rescued her 6 months ago from a high kill shelter in New Mexico)
Martha

this is obi — he’s sitting guard as he does each day on his favorite vintage chair — peering out the window, and always with proper use of the armrest…
stacie (santa barbara)

attached is a photo of my two english bulldogs – tater tot is the brindle puppy (17months) and little bit is the sleeping 13yr old. i think the cherry red Naugahyde sofa & custom made oil cloth pillows make for a bright and cheery backdrop to my baby boys. normally i won’t submit a photo that had an obvious cord, but they looked so sweet while i was drilling a shelf into the wall that i felt compelled to send. also it is one of the few photos that the dogs are the entire frame.
jeanie (New York City)

It’s a picture of my dog Pixie on the right and my neighbors dog Gigi.
Ruben

This is our cat Hermione sleeping on our recently acquired Eames Soft Pad Management chair. I think it needs to be re-upholstered. Hermione doesn’t seem to care 🙂
– Helen (Evanston, Il)

I love Monday’s pets on furniture and thought my 12yrs old Muru cat wants to join in. I have adopted her from a cat-shelter soon 2yrs ago. She is very much loved and I wish to give her a loving and caring home for the rest of her life. Here she is sitting on my chest of drawers, she sits here daily and glances out through the window or takes a little nap.
Nina (Helinki, Finland)

Here is my Pagoda atop my Eileen Gray.
– Nemi (Miami, FL)

Our 4 year old Morkie, Panda, “hiding” from ear cleaning day.
– Jenn (Manhattan)

Murphy and 7 month old Arlo in their favourite spots!

This is a picture of our one year old Lakeland Terrier Ailsa sitting on our brand New Cuba Chair by Carl Hansen in our apartment in Manhattan, NY. She has claimed this chair as her own personal afternoon nap chair. Should you decide to sit on her chair, she will curl up on your lap.

This was for Movember in November…supporting the fight of prostate cancer.

Giovanni is the fat cat. He is sitting on CB2 Chair.

I would love to share a photo of our dog Toto. We always have a hard time photographing Toto because he is a jet black color, but we think we found just the right spot. We also just noticed that he is totally posing with one leg up on the arm of the chair!
Karen & Guy (Los Angeles, CA)

The late Miss Clio, enjoying a moment outside on the balcony in a Pottery Barn wicker chair, Venice, CA.
– Rachel

Dog: Walter the Westie enjoying some morning sun, as its been quite cold here lately
Cat: Maggie finding a spot next to some plants so she can chew on the leaves
– Hilary (Vancouver, BC)

Hello, this is my little Sawyer. She’s a 9 month old frenchie who’s obsessed with my couch. More so than I am it seems. We both do take pretty good naps on it.
– Amna (London)

I shot this cutie-patootie at a friends’ house this afternoon…
– Kelly

I send 3 pictures of my rabbit because I couldn’t decide which one I love the most. He’s a sweet bunny, his name is Kakarot and he loves to jump over our furniture. Fortunately he never destroys any of it! I’m an architect and my mother is an interior design, we are from Brazil and we just love this charming armchair!
– Mariana

Mei-Mei was adopted as a kitten from Toronto Cat Rescue who is allowed on almost all the furniture. Finnegan is a Labrador Retriever who graciously accepts Mei-Mei’s dominant alpha leader position.
– Jennifer

I have a couple of extra entries for you today. First up, some really cool DIY recycled pet beds that Joanne made for the DIY network – a picnic basket, a drawer and an office chair.

I received an email back from Annik of last week’s second pet post.
Yes, the fluffy grey cat sitting on the wooden chair is really that huge. I’ve recently found another picture of hers in my archive, this one should make things clear as far as size is concerned…And by the way: The pictures have actually been taken in two different houses I’ve lived in the past few years.

(LOL!!!)
