If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim[@]hotmail[.]com and PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet!)
This is Bo, my 7 month old rescue. She was found 2 months ago tied to a fence here in Brooklyn. She had a terrible wound on the back of her neck that has healed well. Her favorite spot is on my Moller 78 chairs. Thank god she does not use them as a scratching post!
Along with Bo i have a wonderful dog called Maddie. She is a 2 year old Goldendoodle who loves relaxing on her favorite chair.
– Alex

the dining table: desk, renovated by husband, passed down from father-in-law, quite old.
the cat: mulvey, the manx, also quite old (about 16 years). she can get up there all by herself, but needs help on the dismount (her suspension springs aren’t what the used to be)
– Patti (Brisbane)

This is Moco Vinny in my cramped (but efficient) studio. She is on top of a trash find and next to a Craigslist free mid century bookshelf-type thingy. Very glamorous.
The pics below are of Farrah Boo in our little sun room. She is the fat lardy blob on the long couch.
Third pic is also Moco Vinny on the same couch salivating after the birds.
– Pam

This is Chloe. She is making herself comfortable on my folding chair from Anthropologie. She sometimes sits here while I am getting ready in the morning.
– Anna (Media, PA)

Jules & Zola in their customary position on the duvet cover I made from old drapes.
– Heather

This is my bulldog Buster, sitting atop his throne in our soho loft. Hands down, best snuggler I know!
– Genevieve

Here are some pictures of my cat Sammich on a loveseat my mom reupholstered for me in my favorite pattern, houndstooth.
– Sarah (North Carolina)

Mia (black) and Cali (white) on slipper chair in my living room.
– Jody (Kensington MD)

My little dog is named Stevie. He’s a 4 year old pug/terrier rescue from the ASPCA who has commandeered the chair as his own. I was taking a piano lesson at the time and he was just listening and relaxing!
– Mike (NY)

Clover is on his favorite piece of furniture, a Barcelona chair. I adopted from the ASPCA in California 6 years ago while in college.
Gatsby, our 3 year old handsome mutt from the ASPCA in Chicago, is napping in front of a modern bookcase.

My bootiful cat is Billy, he’s a persian chinchilla and he’s curled up on my son’s bed in one photo and in my study on the shelf in the other!

This is Daisy, our year-and-a-half-old Boxer who decided to make herself at home in our new bucket chair. She follows the sunbeams through the room all day long.
– Kristie, Tucson, AZ

I’ve attached a few pictures of our Chihuahua, Hibou! She loves to soak up the sun while lounging around the living room 🙂
– Dustin & Hibou (Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Kuma is our beautiful white Akita, who every once and a while decides to take a rest on the couch (usually when no one is looking).
– Eden & Tait (Boulder, CO)

Attached is a photo of my (nearly) 6-year-old Pom/Shiba Inu cross, Jordy, in his favourite spot by the fireplace. I’ve had him since I rescued him when he was 3-years-old and he’s happily made himself at home everywhere in our house. Any throw cushions or blankets that get added to the couch automatically become his. However, with his little button face it’s hard to say no!
– Keira-Anne (Vancouver, British Columbia)

Here is a picture of my cat sophie on my sofa. I think she was Audrey Hepburn in a former life.
– Cole (Chicago)

After preventing Ramona from lying on our couch, she decided the womb chair would do just the trick!
– Sue

Best seat in the house for watching the kids at the park!

1 – That’s” Big Aldo” hiding in a wonderful Indian Basket.
2 – Marco in pure bliss sleeping in the sun..!!
3 – Baci…the one and only..

These are our dogs, Leela (top) and Bailey (bottom) sitting with our recently finished DIY project, a mid-century modern chair we picked up of the side of the road. I’ve also included a photo of the ‘before’ state of the chair. Leela had meandered under it for a rest the day we were working on it in the backyard this passed summer.

coco would love to submit this pic for pets on furniture….she’s on an ikea bookshelf next to the good old kartell lamp…
– Tarnya

Our one year old little dude, Gary, claims every piece of furniture in our home. Couches, chairs, beds, tables…nothing is out of bounds in his mind.
– Amanda (Toronto)

The first picture features a media console I built and was trying to photograph (sans kitties) for my blog. The divas, Lily and Stinkerbelle, would not stay off the console. They live for a good photo op…The second one is of Lily soaking up some rays on the same console.
– Donna (Huntsville, AL)

This picture is of one of my cats, Moo Moo. She loves lounging on her retro cat bed (etsy) as well as our furniture. She always hops right in and claims her spot!

1 – We are living at home with two cats and one dog at Bosphorus İstanbul. Here is a photo of our English Bull Terrier. His name is Kafa, in good boy position on our George Smith sofa.
2 – Again Kafa ( means head ) our lovely good boy on his favourite Finland Furniture sofa.
– Burcu (Arnavutköy, İstanbul, Türkiye)

My husband and I just re organized our bedroom to have a little “nook”. I tried to take a picture to send to my mom to show her, but Lily, our french bulldog, wanted to be in the picture too.

Leroy is obsessed with the birds outside so I usually find him hear making chirping sounds. Chair is thrifted Modern Danish and covered in sheepskin. Pillow is a local silkscreener that makes cityscapes of our fair city.

Hi, do you know how to use an armchair corectly? My one-eye cat Edek lies down on it to jump and chase the second cat, Cymek.
– Ewa, Zielona Góra (Poland)

We are a rescue home and are suckers for Golden retrievers. Here ate some shots taken over the past couple months. Youngest is Bella that was in a crate for the first 10 months of her life until she found us and now she has the life!
– Patrick

1 – Elliot (Wirp), Oliver (Pants), myself and their sister Madi all shared a tiny 1 bedroom apartment in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle, WA. They were all VERY busy with the goings on of the hens that lived across the street that would break out of their pen. Almost daily, I will find both (HUGE) boys snuggled next to each other on this, my favorite green chair, or atop one of the many pieces of luggage I’ve collected.
2 – A tiny Elliot, aka Wirp stretched out atop of my old 1950’s cream colored sofa.
3 – Elliot + Oliver sleeping on striped vintage bedsheets.

This is my cat, Wilma, on my daughter’s hand-me-down table. (She had to leave it behind when she moved to Hawaii). Wilma randomly picks a spot for hanging out and today it was the coffee table.
– greta (minneapolis, minnesota)

Maria- the evil cat that turns into an angel when asleep.
– Irina

This is my Burmese cat, Ellie, sitting next to a bunch of Australian natives on my Blackwood coffee table. She’s clearly fascinated by the flame of the candle.
– Kath (Canberra, Australia)

My baby boy Foxy pouting because he couldn’t have another treat.

I’ve attached two photos:

Attached is a photo of my dog Harley relaxing at our new apartment in brooklyn. I think he likes it here!
– Dana

These photos are of my two cats Atticus Scout and Boo. Atticus is the torti-tabby and Boo is the black kitty. As with most cats, they rule the house but the bed is by far their favorite spot. I swear I did not pick my bedding to match my pets!
– Joan

Here is my long-haired miniature dachshund, Jager, on a few different chairs in the house (he likes to sit up high on furniture like a cat; I think it’s short legs syndrome!)
– Kara

I am sending you photos of our three cats; the first photo is of Mia posing on an antique chair and the second is of big boy Capone sharing our island with (a not so flattering bum shot of) Mia with little Sofia looking on from the countertop!
– Jennifer (Sherbrooke, Quebec)

Even though I’m not a fan of Mondays on your blog, you are so on top of my mind for inspiration that the first thing I thought about when seeing Jade on top of the table was “Monday’s Pets-on-Furniture”
– Indira (Dominican Republic)

This is of one of our three adopted cats, Riley. She is recuperating from a thyroidectomy and in this picture, is sitting on a Thomasville demi-lune table in our kitchen. She loves spending time with me in the kitchen when I am preparing meals.
– Susan

This is the precious face that greets me when I get home each day, GingerSnap…my precious King Charles Cavalier.
