Waking up in Palm Springs

Posted on Thu, 14 Jan 2021 by midcenturyjo

In Australia, we have quarantine hotels where returning citizens must stay isolated for 14 days to ensure the virus doesn’t escape into the community. We are very, very lucky to have extremely low and in most cases, no community spread. Unfortunately, none of our quarantine rooms looks anything like this “Waking up in Palm Springs” suite by Patricia Bustos. If only! Bright, fun, great vibes and positive energy.

Colour in the kitchen

Posted on Thu, 14 Jan 2021 by midcenturyjo

Still hanging out in other people’s kitchens even if it is only virtually. These days I’m looking for more colour in my life … and my interiors. Absolutely loving these two kitchens by Plain English. Blue and green or pink with gree. Tough choice. Which one is your favourite?

In a comment the other day an American reader of ours begged us to show some style mixed with warmth and humanity (aka: lived in). Given the horror show that went on there I felt compelled to oblige. I spotted this apartment in a highrise in Moscow on The Village and thought it was perfect to share. This could not be more warm, lived-in, practical, full of life, overflowing with a beautiful energy thanks to bright colours and lots of vintage finds. My thoughts are with my neighbours to the south and I hope this brings a smile to your faces.

An eclectic West Village loft

Posted on Thu, 7 Jan 2021 by KiM

What a gorgeous and unique loft this is! Located in the West Village, this is such a beautiful space with curved ceilings, lovely chevron floors and warm wood cabinetry and then the addition of really special pieces and lots of textures and earthy touches. Eclectic and personal is a winning combination. Designed by Aamir Khandwala. (Photos: Jacob Snavely)

It’s like I say week in, week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it better be somewhere stylish and you can’t get more stylish than this Parisian plastic surgery clinic by Le Berre Vevaud.
