Stalking a sandstone cottage

Posted on Mon, 21 Jul 2014 by midcenturyjo

Or rather that should read “stalking a sandstone house from my sick bed”… flu has struck me down and I’m a whinging, whining patient at best. I think I would feel so much better if I was cocooned in a cute sandstone walled bedroom or sitting by a cosy fire a few steps from a sleek kitchen. I’m stalking in North Sydney. A lovely stone cottage from the early 1800s. Just wondering if it is a little noisy. A click over to the real estate listing and a quick check of the map reveals a very busy “road” just a few steps away. Link here while it lasts.

Stalking leftovers

Posted on Sat, 19 Jul 2014 by midcenturyjo

It’s that time of the week. Time to stalk the leftovers, the ones that didn’t make the cut. Call me particular, finicky, choosy and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or even fab furniture shabby shell. Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s finds include yet another church, a couple of cute kitchens, a tub to soak in and a little terrace full of retro finds. All via realestate.com.au.

Stalking leftovers

It’s that time of the week. The houses that made the cut then didn’t because I hummed and hawed and changed my mind. My stalking leftovers. Why? I’m very fussy. Call me particular, finicky, choosy and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or no furniture at all! Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that have me nodding “yes”. This week’s finds include a really cool apartment (above) that I should have given its own stalking post but the photos just didn’t do enough for me. Speaking of photos there’s a house in Tasmania which I’m sure is fabulous in real life but the listing photos are just bitsy. Then there is the warehouse conversion. What I would do to that space! And there is even a house I have featured before but with more photos. All via realestate.com.au.

This week I’m fixating on little kitchens and bathrooms including a new meaning to “the bath is just off the landing”. There’s a church conversion too and a couple of cottages in the country. Stalking an inner city oasis

Posted on Mon, 30 Jun 2014 by midcenturyjo

I’m stalking in one of my favourite inner city Sydney suburbs. I’m stalking the streets of Paddington. That part of Paddington that spills into Woollahra. A pristine white terrace house with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a pool. A stylish family home in a stylish part of town with extensions and renovations by celebrated architect Luigi Rosselli. Let’s start in the back yard and work our way up the 3 levels. There’s lots of lovely distractions on the way. It may take some time.

P.S. Link here while it lasts.
