Sunday at the café

Posted on Sun, 16 Dec 2018 by KiM

Finished your Christmas shopping and baking and wondering how to spend your Sunday afternoon? How about relaxing in a pink booth with a coffee at Pastel Rita in Montréal’s neighbourhood of Mile End. Designed by Appareil Architecture, this 1500 sq ft space is home to a café, artisan workshop and boutique. The colour scheme of green, pink and yellow is so warm and energetic. I’ll have to check this place out next time I’m vintage shopping on St. Laurent.

Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say time and time again. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish … plus good coffee is a definite bonus. #tag is a co-working space for digital creatives in Warsaw designed by mode:lina™ architectsAdd to the mix excellent beverages, the ability to shoot videos or photos and a large workshop and you have just about everything you need as an indie content producer. (Loving those coffee cup walls 😉

Sunday at the café

It is Sunday and you’re hungry, thirsty and have some work to do. If you’re in downtown Montréal you can head to Café Parvis on Rue Mayor and enjoy what looks like some really incredible foods, drinks and bring your laptop because they have a workspace area so you can be productive too! I love the casual, earthy vibe of this place, designed by Atelier Zébulon Perron.

More from Ricardo de la Torre

Since I am crushing on the work of Madrid-based designer Ricardo de la Torre I thought I would share a random assortment of other projects of his, including some commercial spaces. That space above though – WOW! I’m also mesmerized by the last 2 spaces (from the VIP area of Summa, the Contemporary Art Fair of Madrid).

Sunday at the cinema

Not sure how to spend your Sunday? If you’re in Madrid do I have the perfect spot for you! Sala Equis is a cinema, restaurant, performance space that is absolutely beautiful. A restored cinema housed in a covered terrace that has a magical quality to it. Peeling paint, crumbling walls, vines growing and inside some neon and velvet, and original tile floors make for quite a dramatic venue. Designed by Plantea Estudio.
