as big as my house
P.S. In case you Ottawans missed my mention the other day, don’t forget to get your butts down to Carleton U today, tomorrow or Sunday for the Ottawa Antique Show. I had a great time (and got some goodies) at this show in April – details here.

There once was a girl from Quebec by the name Geneviève Labbé who studied interior design. After she graduated she ended up moving to Denmark, met and married a lovely Danish boy, and then moved to Sweden where she landed a job working for Ikea on their catalogs and brochures. (DREAM JOB) This is her apartment in Malmö. And no, it’s not completely furnished by Ikea. She prefers to mix styles and loves incorporating vintage items in her home. And then I moved in. 🙂 (via Le Soleil)

I want to eat that photo above. Utter perfection. Captured by talented Parisian photographer Germain Suignard. All the others are his as well. There is a whole lotta midcentury fabulousness up in here.
P.S. Fellow Ottawans, it’s that time of the year! The Ottawa Antique Show is happening this Friday to Sunday at Carleton U!! Always a good time, and always lots of cool things to see and purchase (I scored in April!). Check out their website or Facebook for details.

Stop it! Stop it! I really must stop stalking on the Domus Nova site. Just two more to share and then I’ll walk away from the computer. The first house has such fabulous bones. I’d be happy living there with just a box to sit on. That’s a lie but you know what I mean. The second is perfect for the stylish book lover. Stealing the bookcase at the end of the bathtub idea.

I thought I would do a little something different today so last night I went through my inspiration folder (always a bit sad as it seems rebuilding this house is never going to become reality) and picked out all of the photos that really stand out and make me have heart palpitations. So here’s the first batch.

This has been my favourite wood floor for EVER. I adore the rustic/raw look. DREAMY. (Via Hus & Hem)

While I love my current kitchen, black and white kitchens always get me going. The tile backsplash is perfection. (Via Anna Carin Design)

My next kitchen absolutely must have some sort of butler’s pantry type situation going on. Check out the little space off this kitchen. (Elizabeth’s lake house)

The simplest way to hide a TV and media components – stick them in a black hole. Genius! (via Lucyna Kołodziejska)

I would LOOOVE an easy way for the cats to go in and out in the summer. This would make my life SO much easier and I would have much happier cats. 🙂 (via MAKE architecture)

…and a low window setup where they can hang out and watch birds and squirrels. (via Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Arkitekter MNAL)

…or I can go all out and build them a huge wall structure play centre, hence defining my crazy cat lady status. (via Schuyler Samperton)

I saw this photo on Instagram and had a random thought – how cool it would be to have a box deep enough to lay in and read a book. Have a light hanging down and it be a little hangout nook. I have a serious obsession with nooks. (via Alice Gao)

BEST. DINING. TABLE. (via Bricks Amsterdam)

A round window. A giant peephole. Just to piss off the builders. 😉 (via Yatzer)
