UdA

A little diversity is always welcome here at DTI. When I came across the portfolio of Italian architecture firm UdA (Ufficio di Architettura) their spaces, sprinkled with quirky elements, intrigued me. I am especially intrigued by their streamlined storage solutions.

Now I want one of these

That’s what happens when I real estate stalk. I see things I never knew I needed, have nowhere for them and must have whatever it is regardless. The hunt is one. I want a gramophone trumpet as a lampshade. I wonder how long it takes me to track one down at a ridiculously bargain price?

House hunting in the country

Posted on Fri, 25 Nov 2011 by midcenturyjo

House hunting sounds so much more “adult” than real estate stalking. Not that I’m looking to bag any houses this particular house hunting season. My bag limit was definitely one and I’m done. Still I seem to be drawn to country cottages and getaway boltholes. In places with fruit trees and hedges, a vege garden, old wooden sheds, quiet country lanes and a well stocked local deli with cheese room and wine cellar just down the road. Perhaps a cafe with a famous, now “retired” barista. Somewhere I can rough it with a cappuccino or some gelati. This cottage might just do me fine. It’s just outside Daylesford in Victoria. A little decluttering, a few more found industrial pieces and a wine fridge. Every weekender needs a wine fridge 😛 Link here while it lasts.

Jack Thompson (again)

It’s been a while since we visited the portfolio of photographer Jack Thompson and to my delight when I stumbled upon his site recently there were many more gorgeous spaces in his repertoire. I am of course featuring some below but as Jo mentioned in her previous post of his work, Jack’s portfolio is filled with all sorts of other fun stuff besides interiors so do go have a peek.

It’s simple Simon

Simple, stylish, real homes brought to life by photographer Simon Whitbread. Light and dark, colour playing off white, engaging angles, a sense of calm, of the quiet before the rush of everyday life. Great shots. He makes it look easy doesn’t he?
