A good photo isn’t just a frame of film. It’s a frame of mind. A photographer is a weaver of dreams, a story teller, the fairy godmother with a bag full of wishes. I’m wishing, I’m wanting, I’m hooked by these shots by photographer Anitta Behrendt.

It’s simple really. Simplicity is beautiful. Form and function, not trends and fashion. Quality and materials, durability and sustainability, light and space. “A single room where the sunlight plays over a rich surface of stone, beautiful hardwoods or structural fabrics can be decorative in itself.” Simple yes, simply stunning.  Danish architectural firm  NORM Arkitekter.

“Holy sh*t” was my initial reaction when I came across the portfolio of Gregory Phillips Architects. Based in London, Gregory Phillips (who is an architect AND interior designer) produces modern spaces that startle and delight, with windows that capture and frame the glorious views that eliminate the need for artwork. The trees are the art. And did I mention the windows??? (OH – and that media room is RIDUNCULOUS. I’ve got to show that to the BF).

Dear Dexter (I hope I may call you Dexter),

It’s really not fair. Not only are you a great photographer, you get to hang out in the coolest houses. I know it’s work but look at that view! I mean Dexter your job has perks. I’m trying hard to find fault but it’s impossible. Your work is stunning. The light in your photos is so bright, so white but it only makes the shadows so much more inviting. It’s no surprise you’re based in Spain. No it’s really not fair. I want to be you.

It’s Hollywood Hip. Not particularly Hollywood Regency, although there are elements here. It’s sleek and happening, all cool with endless views from the Hollywood Hills. Think groovy. Think stylin’ baby. Drinks by the pool and beautiful people on the rise. Interior designer Darryl Wilson’s work isn’t a cliche. It’s just the Hollywood dream.
