Lisa Cohen

I love photographer Lisa Cohen’s work. (Was it really back in 2007 when I first posted about her?) Navigating my way through her rep’s site I found more of her portfolio and I’m sooooo glad I did. You see I have had several of Lisa’s photos saved as tear sheets and now I’ve found them online. Love the postcards around the door and the the last two photos…. is that my next house? Beautiful beautiful shots.

More from Amanda Nisbet

I stumbled upon the website of New York based interior designer Amanda Nisbet the other day and was awed by the supply of gorgeous photos of her work. “Untethered by design rules, Amanda brings a fresh energetic approach to a traditional sense of luxury. Color, texture and form blend to create her trademark comfortable elegance. Her work seamlessly balances function and style, Classicism and Modernism, in surprising ways.” Since it’s been over a year since Jo posted some photos from her portfolio, I was eager to do a follow-up post.

Just when you thought everything Swedish was white along comes this house with more than enough colour to brighten any grey day. OMG! Where to begin! The tiles, the bathrooms, the colour saturated bedrooms, that reading/snoozing/TV watching landing, that LAUNDRY!!!!! Big virtual kisses to Annika for this piece of real estate stalking. A design crazy Scandinavian girl living in Australia, Annika says that this home was done up by a group of interior designers for a show called “Finally Home” on Channel 4. Explains the wide colour palette. I’m still in shock from that laundry.

Piet Boon

Piet Boon is a Dutch designer who I’ve admired since I first saw his work. Jo posted about his Caribbean beach villa a while back and I thought we were very much overdue for another look at some spaces he has designed. Very organic feeling, rustic then modern at times but always minimal, his work is impressive. I want those outdoor spaces so badly it hurts.

J Weiss Design

Jennifer Weiss, principal of J Weiss Design and her team have a modern aesthetic but not cold and minimalist. No their buildings relate to the people who live and work in them. They are real, light filled, cleverly planned (check out that kitchen workspace!), luxe and livable. A well designed space is a luxury we all deserve.
