This condo in Saint Petersburg, Florida is all about liveable glamour. Lisa Gilmore took this condo up several notches with a really unique backsplash with Kelly Wearstler tile and large brass handles and hood in the kitchen, the dreamiest magenta media room and some dramatic wallpapers in the bathrooms. Gorgeous!!!

I love seeing renovation projects where a period home’s architecture is respected and restored. Kudos to STUDIO 1 NINE 1 for doing this home justice. This 100+ year old Edwardian received a complete makeover, bringing beauty and life back into this classic Toronto home. The project included, Full demolition/gut of the dining room and a new window, new paint throughout, new furniture, lighting, accessories, complete refurbishment of 2 fireplaces as well as the vintage pocket doors. We also updated the kitchen by painting out the existing cabinetry, installing new counters, back-splash and hardware.

The creativity and boldness of South East London design firm 2LG Studio continues to blow my mind. This is a lesson on breaking all the rules, using colour in magical ways and embracing shapes. Each element has been inspired by found objects and prints from within the house as well as our own design travels. Its previous owners clearly had a passion for interiors as it had pink walls throughout, and deep green carpets. In the loft we found a stash of old interior magazines from the 50’s and 60’s as well as remnants of fabrics. As the house evolves with us, it has been through many stages, acting not only as a home, but as a backdrop for our work as designers. So far we have restored the roof and chimneys, the original sash windows and floors. We have completed the pink bathroom, updated the front door, given ourselves a wonder closet for a WC, created an entrance hallway the previous owners would have loved, we hope, and given the lounge added panelling to go with the original coving and ceiling rose, based on pencil markings we found on the walls under the old wallpaper. The open plan kitchen/diner/studio space is the heart of the project and was the inspiration behind many new product designs.

The Regency villa had seen better days, sadly divided into 3 flats with clumsy additions and awkward spaces. Enter London-based interior designers Harding & Read who created a family home with all the mod cons while retaining its historic proportions and details. Atmospheric with its own sense of place the home feels like it has evolved over generations not resurrected recently.

Continuing to spread my love of London’s mass of delicious Victorian homes with this renovated beauty via Shoot Factory. I do love the decor throughout this home, and though I love a mix of periods, I can’t help but think the homeowners should have stuck with a more traditional vibe throughout. Regardless, I am smitten.
