Casa Payesa

Now that summer is over and I am in a fall depression, I think it is the perfect time to start thinking about warmer climates. Like that of Ibiza. This home of interior designer Virginia Nieto is bringing home the Mediterranean vibe with bright white walls, concrete floors, straw mats and light fixtures and a to-die-for outdoor space. Wow do I ever love this house!!!

Classical bathing beauty

Posted on Wed, 3 Oct 2018 by midcenturyjo

It appears I’m spending my Wednesday daydreaming of beautiful spaces and as I’m in the middle of a bathroom renovation it seems appropriate that my imagination has strayed to this swoon worthy bathroom by Luis Puerta. Light-filled and lovely.

Kitchen love

A beautiful 1900’s sandstone villa in Adelaide has been given a new lease on life by Melbourne-based interior designers Heartly. The new kitchen sits simply within the extension. Practical and family friendly does not preclude the luxury of stone and American oak. A nod to the age of the house is found in the streamlined shaker cabinets and the newly exposed stone. A mudroom and new bathroom complete the renovation.

White and Kaki

Interior decorators Carlos Rocha and Vítor Duarte of White and Kaki must have reached into my imagination and made my dream of a Portuguese getaway come true. Neutral tones, texture on texture, an earthy sophistication. Throw the doors open to coastal breezes or escape indoors to the cool of stone and plaster. The perfect marriage of its Mediterranean roots, tribal influences and industrial touches. You’ll find me slumped on a white sofa or soaking in the bedroom tub.

A style-packed renovated home in Barcelona

Posted on Sun, 30 Sep 2018 by KiM

Some eclectic, mid-century and style-packed vibes going on in this 3 story home in Barcelona I stumbled upon via Nuevo Estilo. This home was formerly uninhabited, and needed many walls knocked down in order to make it open and bright. Interior designer Bruno Reymond added some drama with a mostly black and white colour palette with some sculptural furniture and bold artwork. Sweet rooftop views are a welcome bonus.
