Last year I featured the pattern-a-licious Guatemalan home of designer Rodman Primack. It seems he has since packed up and moved to Mexico City where his new home is awash with colour and patterns and some groovy mid-century furnishings. So much fun!!! (Photos: Stephen Johnson)

Aside from every colour under the sun being incorporated into this 200 sq m 1960s Sydney home you also have exposed brick, mural painted on brick, ‘crazy pavers’ flooring, tile, marble, white cork etc. making this home as dynamic and energizing as can be. It is utterly fascinating how design firm YSG managed to turn chaos into something really special. (Photos: Prue Ruscoe, Styling: Alicia Sciberras)

Page Louisell Design is based in Chicago and known for sophisticated, livable and quality interiors including a fearless sense of color, sophisticated use of pattern, and mix of bespoke and antique furnishings. Well, I’m smitten, especially with this space – Page’s apartment. I’d throw in timeless too. Gorgeous!

Glin Castle is an incredible 20,000 square foot, 14th century, 18-bedroom, 18-bath Georgian house in Ireland owned by actor Dominic West, his wife Catherine Fitzgerald and 2 of her sisters (having been in their family since it’s creation). They have lovingly restored the castle and used it as a retreat, but now it’s available to book privately. What an absolutely breathtaking piece of history. Take a boring, highrise apartment completely lacking character, add lots of bold colours and patterns and artwork and you have yourself a knock-out! This Harlem apartment by designer Anthony George proves you can add so much personality and interest though paint and carefully curated furnishings, art and accessories.
