Wasn’t this picture just in a Swedish interiors magazine? Isn’t that the hottest indie fabric on Etsy? Or was it in the last IKEA catalogue? Of course not. It’s from this week’s retro design book. (Golden Homemakers 100 Ideas to Beautify Your Home, Gudenian Rockail & Mayer, Marshall Cavendish, London, 1972.) So much to love in today’s offerings… and SO much to hate. That bathroom for one. Am I the only one to think the young girl below looks like the angelic psycho child from a bad blood curdling slasher horror film? Perhaps “Revenge of the Interior Designer’s Children Part II”? They’re coming to get you!!!

• Barcelona beauties. Love these modern wallpapers by Tres Tintas. Fresh, original, fun and fab.Designers and artists collaborated to create collections based on urban art to women’s fashion.

• Blog love time. I’m hooked on yellowtrace. Design, interviews, lots of gorgeous pictures and inspiration from Sydney interior designer Dana. Go raid the archives and find out why it’s called yellowtrace.

I think those of us dealing with the winter blahs could use a bit of colour for a pick-me-up. (I got my fair share in Mexico but I feel for those of you not able to travel south this winter). A shocking dose of pink oughtta help, care of some photos by Wilfried Overwater (via Taverne Agency).

Photo stylist and story producer. Great job title isn’t it. Donna Talley is just that. Her look is classically tailored and yet relaxed, feminine, natural with just a hint of European, hopsack and linen, scrubbed timber and Biedermeier. It’s ironstone and baskets, fresh flowers and glass bottles, antique silverware and sun bleached colours. It’s easy and elegant and soft. And it’s lovely.
