Light and elegant, fun and quirky, retro meets modern and always stylish. Interior designer Alice Cottrell designs homes that are packed with personality and overflowing with originality. She is also the queen of the never ending loooooooong sofa. A 12-seater anyone?
Rowena Marsh, Mark Cashman and Steve Koolloos form the Australian architecture firm MCK Architects. I stumbled upon their website recently and noticed Jo blogged about them some time ago. They are freaking geniuses let me tell ya. I am in awe of their creativity, clean lines, attention to detail (and detail where it matters), stunning use of wood, and ability to make a Vespa look totally hot.
Oh my it doesn’t get any better than gorgeous rooms swathed in Svenskt Tenn goodness styled by the amazing Mikael Beckman (these from his agent’s site). Yum! It’s not all Josef Frank colour riots and perfect pewter though in Beckman’s portfolio. Something a little more 70s retro? You’ll find it after the jump. P.S. Mikael blogs too!
The other day I spent a bit of free time trawling the internet looking for some blog material so I can help keep you folks inspired as we like to do here at DTI, and somehow I came across the website of Jimmy Schönning, whom I now have a giant crush on. He’s a Swedish interior stylist who has worked for some of my favourite magazines such as Sköna Hem, Hus & Hem, Allt i Hemmet and Ideal Home. His super stylin’ home has been around the web here and there and I think we featured a few photos when we blogged about photographer Per Magnus Persson. Because I could eat his pad for breakfast, I am going to feature it here (see the first batch of photos), as well of some of the spaces he has styled for magazines.
