Monday’s pets on furniture – part 2

Posted on Mon, 25 Jun 2012 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it’s dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

This is our rescue cat Elvis in his favourite afternoon nap spot, on my Robin Day dining chair, enjoying the last of the late afternoon sun! He immediately claimed the chair when we brought it home, so he is obviously a discerning cat when it comes to design classics!
Holly (London, England)

This is Pandora, our Bengal rescue on the “Graffiti Chair” I designed for a client.

The image attached is my beagle/fox hound mix, Roscoe. Rossie loves to sneak on the sofa when I’m not looking. On this particular day, he looked so comfortable basking in the sun that I didn’t have the heart to disturb him!

Please find attached a picture of Muttley, a Bull Arab, much loved dog of Lynn and her family.  At 10.30pm on the dot he takes himself off to bed and if his bed is not ready for him, well! He just gets onto his Mum and Dad’s bed – and here he is in this picture!

This is Mr. Freckles McShuttsie, our new pit bull. He’s 6 months old, from the Seattle Animal Shelter.  He’s recovering from being very sick, and in his free time he’s working on his memoir and made-for-tv-movie, both titled:  “From Parvo to Paradise”.
– Victoria (Seattle, WA)

Here are Pico and Julie lounging on a recently reupholstered living room chair.  Pico (black and white) can be quite a bully so it’s nice to see them enjoying each other’s company!
– Diana (Brooklyn, NY)

Love love love every single pet and the people who rescued them. But oh my, that Graffiti Chair is TOO fabulous!

Laura says:

Love Mr. Freckles McShuttsie! Looks like he's recovering in style.

Deb J. says:

I love the graffiti chair too. Totally outshines the pets – which is usually my favourite part. (That and getting a peak into other people's homes.). But that chair! I am attempting to get a graffiti look on a cabinet I have but it's not there yet.

TieDye64 says:

Mr. Freckles McShuttsie looks like he's got it good. Here's to a speedy recovery. I love each and every one of these.

BTW, that graffiti chair is fabulous!

Thanks for the nice comments! I did that chair for a client, but with the feedback I'm getting on it, I'm thinking of putting it into production similar to what Jimmie Martin does, but a tad bit less expensive (i.e. A whole LOT less expensive!)…
