A’ Design Award and Competitions are organized and awarded annually and internationally in a wide range of categories. Every year, projects that focus on innovation, technology, design and creativity are awarded with the A’ Award. While realized projects find opportunities to get published, reach new markets and meet a wide range of buyers for their existing products, the organization also helps the creative minds and startups to meet with the business people to realize their product ideas. If you’d like to register for 2016-2017 you can do so here

An eclectic Georgian Townhouse

Posted on Mon, 15 Aug 2016 by midcenturyjo

The renovation of this London Family home by Compass & Rose is a mix of Scandinavian style and a fresh, bright and youthful feel. With amazing Georgian bones as the perfect starting point, the house received a new kitchen and eclectic interiors. Love, love, love that kitchen. Sympathetically modern yet traditional, scandi and a touch of industrial all rolled into one. (See kim’s previous post on Compass & Rose here.)

Velvet Morning

Posted on Mon, 15 Aug 2016 by midcenturyjo

Think of accommodation options for your next stay in London and a canal barge in Maida Vale is not something that immediately springs to mind… until now. The Velvet Morning (great name) is a gorgeous 57 ft canal boat, with all the comforts of a cosy cottage. Wood burner, claw foot bath, white linens in your cosy cabin and the golden glow of wooden accents. Another fabulous holiday property available via The Plum Guide.

Calming neutrals

Things have been soooo busy for me lately so a little calmness is welcome in every aspect of my life, including here on the blog. This Japanese inspired, semi-minimalist apartment I found on The Village is filled with nothing but neutrals and I love it for that. The shelving in the living and dining spaces is pretty fantastic too.

Working on a Saturday

You may be feeling dark and moody if you have to head into the office on a Saturday but not as dark and moody as this Amsterdam turn key project by TANK. Talk about drama at work!
