Working on a Saturday

Posted on Sat, 17 Dec 2016 by midcenturyjo

You know what I say. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend then it better be somewhere stylish… and if jewellery is involved then that’s a bonus. The Sabika offices are creative, colourful and fun just like their product. Design by ACRE Creative.

Sisters Maria Paula and Maria Claudia Brasil of São Paulo design firm Maria Brasil Arquitetura have set out to create funky, modern, eclectic spaces by using some fun colours, artwork and patterns. They even manage to make a pink kitchen look cool!

Loft living

Let’s finish the week with a little loft love. Small (for a loft) but perfectly formed this New York space by Spanish interior designer Isabel López-Quesada is a wonderful example of warehouse chic. Sophisticated, beautifully curated and stylish. The perfect city pad for one… and friends.

I want it all

Posted on Fri, 16 Dec 2016 by midcenturyjo

This breezy and all-white two-room apartment is the latest project sent over to Desire to Inspire by Laura Seppänen Design Agency. It’s the brand new home of Stina Mäntyniemi, the head of Cosmopolitan Finland and featured recently in Deko Magazine. The client’s wish was for a clean and monochrome interior. No carpets, no curtains. The Bertoia chair was though an absolute must. The look is cosy, minimalist Scandinavian with a palette of paperwhites used on walls, floors and ceilings. The existing kitchen was in a relatively good shape just updated with new cabinet doors, sink, faucet and the old door pull painted matt black. The counter top is Carrara marble. Laura incorporated the client’s existing furniture with carefully selected pieces from Finland and abroad, Scandinavian classics mixed with new Nordic brands. Just like the lightbox says – I want it all.

Traditional with a bohemian edge

Posted on Thu, 15 Dec 2016 by KiM

New York interior designer Katie Leede has managed to bring traditional and bohemian chic together in this home and create something so dynamic, lush, and welcoming. I have looked through these photos so many times, finding new and unexpected details with each pass. Lots of colour, wonderful textures and patterns are what Katie is all about, carefully curated together with beautiful art and antiques.
