Having fun with outdoor spaces

Posted on Fri, 10 Nov 2017 by KiM

As promised here are the balconies, front porch and backyard of Jennifer Scott‘s former home. As awesome as the interior. It is so important up here in Canada to have inviting outdoor spaces to take advantage of when the weather is decent.

This was, up until recently, the Vancouver home of stylist and designer Jennifer Scott and it is sooooo charming and girly and eclectic. You can read all about it in this blog post, but I just wanted to point out how awesome her finds are from her trip to Morocco, and how evident her love of vintage finds is. Her home is so fantastic I had to include a part 2 coming up later of the outdoor spaces.

I’m stalking masculine, minimal and a Murphy bed in inner-city Sydney. Thankfully the fold-up bed is only in the guest room. A two bedroom apartment in an Art Deco warehouse building with bespoke joinery and high-spec finishes all within easy walking distance of the centre of one of the world’s most vibrant cities? Just might be my definition of the perfect bachelor pad. Link here while it lasts.

Dark and light

The drama of black and white, dark and light, always captivates me. These spaces by McAlpine are about as fabulous as it gets.

The beauty of windows

Posted on Thu, 9 Nov 2017 by KiM

I am envious of people who live in homes with soaring cielings with windows that seem endless. My home may have beautiful stained and leaded glass windows but they aren’t very big so I get patches of direct light in certain rooms for about a half hour each day. It is definitively a love/hate relationship. Instead I live vicariously through other people’s homes, like these with windows and doors to die for by McAlpine.
