Stalking leftovers

Posted on Tue, 25 Sep 2018 by midcenturyjo

OK I admit I’m choosy and hard to please. I’ve been stalking leftovers. You know. Those listings that are not quite right, have bad photos or I need more photos please! House is amazing, furniture is deplorable, styling is bland or maybe I’m just in a bad mood. Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s finds include a tower apartment which is a little tired but has great bones, a couple of country getaways including an old courthouse and a modernist Australian classic at risk of falling into the hands of developers. Click on the images to head to the listings. All via realestate.com.au.

Stalking in Melbourne

Posted on Tue, 25 Sep 2018 by midcenturyjo

First up today I’m in the Melbourne suburb of Kew stalking a small Victorian-era end of terrace with traditional brick façade leading into a large, light-filled, modern extention. It’s a combination of history and luxury modern living. The sort of thing that Australian designers do so well. (This house is a collaboration between NTF Architecture and Nexus Designs.) Link here while it lasts.

A Brooklyn loft by Giancarlo Valle

Studio Giancarlo Valle is blowing me away again (last week’s feature here) with this 2300 sq ft loft in Brooklyn that is filled with textures, shapes, colours and lots of unique style. Sublime eye candy.

Happy #Caturday from my lovely Stella! I’ve been sharing on my stories how she has been stealing my favorite coffee drinking spot and this morning was no exception! 😹 . I have to leave for work anyway so it’s all yours, sweet Stella! . But check out this gorgeous alpaca throw blanket from @shopgalavant. Perfect neutral colors and complementing the neutral (for me😉) vibe. And it matches Stella perfectly, dontcha think? Of course if color is your thing, believe me there are many more colorful options on their website. . The reason I support this small company is because they source ethically from small communities and give back a portion of their profits to these communities as a way to help them become more self sufficient! And right now they are offering free shipping—how’s that for an incentive? . PS—@shopgalavant is offering my followers a savings of 15% with this code ➡️ SADIES15. Better jump on that!😉 . . . . . . #sadieslovelylife #flashesofdelight #livethelittlethings #anthrohome #thenewbohemians #bohodecor #bohohome #jungalowstyle #currenthomeview #thatsdarling #darlingweekend #theeverygirlathome #catsofinstagram #apartmenttherapy #scandiboho #modernbohemian #plantladyisthenewcatlady #plantlady #plantladylife #urbanjunglebloggers #interiorrewilding #houseplantsofinstagram #planteriordesign #houseplant

We adopted Millie when she was a feisty 3 year old and she’s graced us with her presence for a further 11 years. Sadly she’s a little thinner now, a bit slower with a slight limp but definitely still as feisty, especially when it comes to keeping our bouncy labradoodle in check – long may it last 🐱🐶Day 19 Animal Magic #myhousethismonth @myhousethismonth 🐱 . . . . . . . . #britishblue #britishbluecat #britishshorthair #catsofinstagram #gardenlife #pursuepretty #simplethingsinlife #sundayvibes #spotlightonmyhome #cornerofmyhome #sassyhomestyle #myhomevibe #petsofinstagram #interiormilk #interiorboom #dtipetsonfurniture #bemorecat #designsponge #jungalino #urbanjunglebloggers #livefabulousandfearless #mygorgeousgaff #walltowallstyle #nestandthrive #dailydecordetail #mystylishspace

As predicted after my food coma on Sunday I fell asleep on the sofa to wake up finding Pierre had managed to drag the top sheet, king size duvet & blanket to the base of the bed in a near perfect straight line. I’m not sure if he did it in protest at me falling asleep or if he did it for fun. Either way this is where he slept that night. Note where he is positioned. Mostly in the middle of the bed leaving me tons of room to sprawl…not. Anyway I took this photo in the morning. He hadn’t moved & didn’t want to get up. Clearly deconstructing the bed on his own was exhausting. #WeeklyFluff #dtipetsonfurniture #dspets #aapets #miniaturepoodle #poodlesrule #poodlesofinstagram #poodlesarethebest #poodlesareawesome #ihavethisthingwithpink #howivintage #vintageheadboard #notveryspoilt #loreal #becauseheisworthit #loveofmylife

Handsome Gus, ensconced in sheepskin. #gus

Here’s Pinot in her favorite chair – maybe because it provides a natural camouflage?
– Karen (Norfolk, Virginia)

Here’s our dwarfrabbit gang. (All from shelters) Our beloved sunshines. The first is Casimir (Long Hair Angora) Freshly trimmed because of the heat. The second under the chair is on the left Ringel and on the right Blanca. (She’s deaf but nevertheless the Boss of the whole family 😉 ) The third is Pippa on the left and Ringel on the right. (Both three-legged through accidents).
– Carmen (Karlsruhe, Southern Germany)

And one from me of Bernie napping on his favourite chair in the living room

Another refurbished Victorian home in London

I have serious bedroom envy after finding this new location home on Shoot Factory so I had to spread the love with you all. I want the bed soooooo badly. But I’d paint it black. And the wooden legs holding up the mattress. The rest of this home is pretty fabulous too. Those crown moldings are what dreams are made of.
