Some from me. Everything is fair game to be laid upon by my cats. Felix taking over my book. And yesterday morning I walked past the bedroom and caught this snuggle-fest with Felix and Frankie. The ferals don’t understand the concept of personal space when it comes to their best buddy Felix. He graciously tolerates this behaviour.
It’s Sunday and I have a day full of errands and preparing for another busy week. Where would I rather be? Perhaps in Paris, enjoying a cocktail at Le Pigalle. I shared some of this hotel in a post last week featuring the designs of Festen Architecture. I can’t seem to get it out of my head so I thought I would share more of this funky hotel. It is exactly the vibe I would expect in this beautiful city. Effortlessly chic.
I can’t help myself. I just have to share one more project, a Rome country house, by Stefano Dorata. His work resonates with my design zeitgeist. Classic meets contemporary, rustic luxe meets urban sophistication all with a restrained colour palette.
Stunning! The view and the apartment. But as much as I’m blown away by the history outside the windows it’s the interior that has me swooning. Think classicism meets contemporary values, new and old balanced just so but with a slight misalignment for the brivido, the frisson, the thrill. The beautiful old bones, the stark beauty of the white walls, the bespoke furniture, the light all create this urban classic by Rome-based architect and designer Stefano Dorata.
pied-à-terre (noun) french /piˌeɪ.dætˈeər/ – a small house or apartment in a city that you own or rent in addition to your main home, where you stay when visiting that city for a short time.
Who needs a primary residence when your out-of-towner looks this good? Time to move to Beverley Hills! Apartment by L.A. based interior designer John De Bastiani.
