I know I am not the only one who dreams of living in a castle (France perhaps?), and I recently discovered a designer who is living my dream. Jorge Canete lives in a Swiss castle built in 1725 called le château de Saint Saphorin sur Morges and it truly is a vision from my dreams. Given its appearance inside, I would say it is something Jorge dreamt of and was able to bring to life. Books float in mid-air, a pendant light mimics a cloud, keys dangle from a crystal chandelier, pages torn from books flutter against walls….it is only missing a princess. And some from me. The first is feral Bernie hanging out on my dining table while I was trying to shoot the arrangement I made out of bits from cedar hedges we ripped out from our front yard. The second is Felix having a nap on my new Ikea Föremål bolster. The third is a shot I took of Mimin chilling on her pillow on our bed.

I am sharing a bit of Architectural Digest inspiration today as these 2 homes caught my attention hard and really got my design juices flowing. This first one was featured in AD France and is located in Place du Palais-Bourbon. Doesn’t get much swankier than that…until you see inside this apartment! It is a stunner, down to the brass trim in the living room. And will you look at the hardwood in the photo below!! Designed by Studio KO, photos by Ambroise Tézenas.

This was in just as fabulous but much more casual, bright and showcases some gorgeous vintage furniture and lighting.
