A mid-century home sits above the Swan River in Perth but the interiors are not quite what you would expect. In a renovation by Christian Lyon Design and architect Arianne Prevost modern design classics (hello Big Mama chair) are juxtaposed with classic art and antiques from the owners’ ancestral home back in Britain. It’s Hepplewhites and all white and it’s fabulous!
Traditional yet contemporary, practical and visually pleasing. Polished concrete, recycled brick, detailed carpentry and sandstone paving and walls, mature olive trees, lush plantings. At times formal, at others rambling, climbing. Eclectic and unique. A Mosman garden by Sydney-based landscape architects Outdoor Establishments.

Soft, serene, simple. Neutral with accents in black. It’s easy on the eye and a perfect Southampton getaway. Welcome to Cedar Hedge Home by Grisoro Designs.

And a couple from me – not really pets on some furniture but it’s all I had on my phone 🙁 The first are a bunch of the OG’s checking out the new fibreglass column I found at an antique shop for $70. You’ll notice a cardboard sofa in the background my husband made for them while we await the arrival of our new sofa. LOL And another bunch of cats hanging out in the kitchen one evening.
Danish fashion designer Malene Birger should have really started her career as an interior designer. Her 1905 Italian stone house on a hillside with views of Lake Como is decorated with the most incredible maximalist, eclectic style that is blowing my mind. Black, white, brown and the most glorious ochre/mustard/spicey yellow I have ever seen, and a divinely random mix of vintage finds from flea markets and auctions around the world.
