Woodside Residence

Posted on Wed, 26 Feb 2020 by midcenturyjo

“Nestled within the established Bird in Hand Wine estate, the Woodside Residence is home to a family of five. With three children under one roof, the circa late 1800s homestead was full to the brim. Via a homogenous extension, the footprint was enlarged and internal spaces renovated, designed to exude country hospitality, set within tranquil surroundings.”

A charming modern interpretation of country living. So many standout design features. The transition from living to dining up concrete stairs beside the double sided fireplace. The large steel and glass window doors that allow extensive views of the lush garden. The mudroom! Woodside Residence by Enoki

An eclectic townhome in Notting Hill

Posted on Tue, 25 Feb 2020 by KiM

Hubert Zandberg is at it again, creating jaw-dropping eye candy in this Notting Hill townhouse. Hubert Zandberg Interiors were commissioned to create a functional home for a young family which required a complete renovation and redesign of the property. Carefully considered spatial planning was essential in order to ensure the home embodied a sense of openness and flow whilst maximising the practical use of the space. HZI stripped back the property entirely to allow for the new and improved layout to accommodate the family of 5 and a guest bedroom. Additionally, a new bespoke kitchen, bathrooms, custom-made joinery and architectural features were incorporated. An eclectic aesthetic approach was employed to refer to the cultural melting pot that is Golborne & Portobello Road whilst also encapsulating the client’s strong sense of style and unique taste. Incorporating a mix of the homeowner’s art collection & decorative objects sourced by HZI from the Notting Hill markets, resulted in a space which captures the feeling of stepping off the street and into a home’s interior that reflects the colourful world outside.

I could not get enough of Émilie Bonaventure‘s work (see this post from last week) so here are 3 Paris apartments she designed. Each one has me dreaming of moving to this glorious city with some of the most beautiful architecture in the world. *sigh*

The Beach House

“This federation home is located on the WA coastline and the extension was designed around a young family of 5. The coastal context and lifestyle formed a strong part of the client briefing. We aspired for a casual feel with original design outcomes that complimented the existing federation style architecture.”

A wonderful modern coastal interpretation in Cottesloe, Perth … The Beach House by LAHAUS.
