Loft lust

Posted on Thu, 7 Feb 2019 by midcenturyjo

It’s my dream loft. Brick and beams, big windows with light pouring in and space, lots of space. The fact that it’s in Soho with views across the Manhattan skyline and it’s gorgeous makes it a no-brainer that I’m now sitting here scheming to make it mine. By Becky Shea Design, a leading NYC-based high end interior design & lifestyle studio. Now if I could just win the lottery and convince the owner to sell it to me.

A renovated apartment in Madrid

Posted on Wed, 6 Feb 2019 by KiM

I am loving this renovated apartment in Madrid designed by Raul Martins. Those exposed wood beams and that tile floor throughout are beautiful features, and the colour accents really warm up the space. Greenery in vases appears to be his signature design element. (You’ll see what I’m talking about in the next post)

A spacious pied-à-terre in Paris

Posted on Tue, 29 Jan 2019 by KiM

I love the idea of a second home/cottage/pied-à-terre – a home you can be brave with and do all the things you wouldn’t dare do in your primary residence. The owners of this pied-à-terre live in London and needed a space in the heart of Paris. Maéma Architectes took what is a beautiful 130 sq m structure, did a bit of re-working and added alot of charm and creativity in a Jonathan-Adler-esque style that is a bit quirky, colourful and fun.

Blue and green in a Paris apartment

Posted on Thu, 10 Jan 2019 by KiM

This post is a combination of 3 big loves of mine. Paris architecture, jaw-dropping interior design and one of my favourite architecture + design firms GCG Architectes. This apartment is really REALLY fabulous. I adore every inch of it – from the blue and green colour scheme to the chevron wood floors to the tile and that little high gloss dining niche (that is something I’m taking note of – I ADORE how they painted out the window sills). ***Update: this is the apartment of Studio Maddox, who is responsible for the interior design.

Beach apartment in Spain

Posted on Thu, 20 Dec 2018 by midcenturyjo

Not your typical beach apartment but then again Cobalto Studio are not your typical interior designers. The Barcelona-based firm is equally as talented when it comes to art direction, set design, event concept design and prop styling. The apartment has a zen-like, rough luxe feel while paying homage to the traditional Spanish vernacular. Definitely not your mass produced holiday let look.Perfect for your stylish seaside getaways.
