Art gallery vibes in a Paris apartment

Posted on Wed, 10 Mar 2021 by KiM

This Haussmanian-style apartment in Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a literal work of art. Stunning architectural details set the stage – the moldings, large windows and chevron hardwood flooring. The walls painted in subdued earth tones are quite intriguing as typically spaces showcasing art are painted white. And as for the art, it’s from a broad range of eras which is very unexpected. Wonderful! Designed by Rodolphe Parente.

Colourful and whimsical in a Harlem apartment

WOW!!! Walking into the Harlem apartment of designer Courtney McLeod (of Right Meets Left Interior Design) must have everyone immediately grinning from ear to ear. This is BOLD and DRAMATIC and SO MUCH FUN! That saturated blue, mixed with orange and pink (and subtle red and green) is a quirky combination that works so beautifully. And a more calming bedroom with a stunning wallpaper adds sophistication. (Check out more of Courtney’s work here)

Pink and vintage in a Milan apartment

This apartment in Milan (of fashion designer Federica Vieros) has many elements that really speak to me so I had to share. Swoon-worthy architecture, unique colour and wallpaper choices, and a covetable collection of vintage lighting, furnishings and accessories make this home absolutely delightful. Via sköna hem.

An Informalist apartment in Madrid

“The aim of this project was to respect the building’s rather posh 1960s architectural soul while inserting the client’s sensibility and the realities of 21st-century family living into the way the space functions. A very masculine approach to aesthetics for a very feminine client with a high sensibility for art and design.”

And why “Informalist”? Because of the family’s impressive collection of art from the Spanish Informalism period. Another striking project by Casa Muñoz.

Classicism at Cadogen Square

Posted on Fri, 5 Mar 2021 by midcenturyjo

Casa Muñoz took a neoclassical approach to designing this central London apartment for a Mediterranean client. The Madrid-based studio of architects and interior designers have created a haven in the city with traditional pieces married with reminders of home such as the woven straw blinds while modern art brings the spaces to life.
