Shades of blue, grey and white, sisal rugs, plants, bamboo, sailboats…something tells me New York City interior designer Matthew Caughy is inspired by all things beachy and nautical. This combination of elements makes for such soothing, timeless and casual spaces. Add in a vignette of vases filled with glorious white hydrangeas and I am smitten.
Oh to have a lakehouse as lovely as this one in Camden, Maine by Kristen Panitch Interiors. A charming mix of original Craftsman features and contemporary living. Beautiful simplicity for relaxed days by the water.
In my dreams you’ll find me here, kicking off my weekday worries at the door like a pair of shoes. My hardest decision at this Palm Beach house on Sydney’s Northern Beaches would be whether to stay in or venture down to the village or perhaps to one of the two beaches just minutes from the door. In my dreams life is really tough. You don’t have to use your imagination though. The Pavilion House is available for holiday let through Contemporary Hotels.
Summer appears to be sticking around a little longer here in Ottawa with temperatures reaching 40 tomorrow. FINE BY ME! In the meantime I am trying to enjoy every moment I can outdoors…and then I came across this beach house in Malibu and was blown away by how beautiful it is inside and out. I would give anything to be able to enjoy a climate like that year round and be so close to the ocean. By Ignacio Rodriguez Architects.
Polar opposites of the previous home, this beach house is ultra-modern where the other was traditional. Somewhat OTT in its sheer expanse of space, I appreciate that the interior has earthy, natural elements to remind you of the location, with gorgeous views of the Atlantic ocean.
