Nevelhaus

An 1,800-square-foot modern country home situated in the heart of the Catskills. This project marks the initial collaboration between INC and NevelHaus on the first of a series of sustainable and turnkey modern designed homes. INC partnered with Hudson-based furniture company Gestalt to curate the home’s interiors, resulting in a unique interiors scheme that highlights and compliments the lush wooded surroundings. INC’s aesthetic goal became to combine the rustic and the refined while relating to the surrounding landscape. The steep pitch of the 45-degree roof angle gives the home a modern character and provides a gracious vaulted living loft. The home’s abstract form is balanced by warm cypress wood siding. The open living loft, inclusive of the kitchen, dining room, and living room, is designed to function as the central gathering space. The 30-foot ceilings in the living loft. plentiful, double-height windows are orchestrated to bring in an abundance of natural light and provide views and connection to the surrounding landscape. The architectural strategy gives the home an open, airy feel while creating moments of intimacy when needed. The first floor features a primary bedroom with a graciously sized bathroom, a private terrace, and an outdoor shower. The second floor offers two bedrooms, an office mezzanine, and a reading nook that overlooks the grand loft room.
The perfect city escape. Clean and minimal with no distractions. By INC Architecture & Design.

The drama of stone

I had to share another spectacular kitchen by Swedish interior architecture firm Kitchens by Paul. The hero here is the incredible Breccia Vagli marble with its dynamic veins and shifting colours. Clean lines and the contrast of the smoked oak combine to create a feeling of contemporary luxury.

Colonial Modernist

“The first-floor expanded kitchen features smoky black cabinetry and textural brick walls, while the second-floor main suite boasts incredibly well-appointed built-in closets that add extensive storage all while incorporating sleek colonial-inspired character back into the space.
The overall scope of this project required a hefty, multi-floor, full gut “floverhaul” i.e., the overhaul of a home’s floor plan with attention to spatial flow and in this case storage. The areas we renovated head-to-toe in order to transform this house into our clients’ dream home include the kitchen, entryway, pantry, mudroom, and main suite.”

Dark, moody, masculine with smoky black cabinetry, textural brick walls and the warm glow of wood this Providence, Rhode Island house by Moore House Design retains its colonial roots but provides the best in modern living.

Books and art and books and art!!!! I adore this Upper Est Side apartment belonging to architect Carlos Garciavelez and interior designer David Lawrence of design firm Carlos David. Aside from the books and art they created lots of graphic, impactful elements that I adore in what is a simple layout. Brilliant!
