Can’t go wrong with black and white

Posted on Tue, 14 Oct 2014 by KiM

Black and white is such a great starting point for a home. In this case it is white walls and BEAUTIFUL glossy black hardwood. (Gawd how I would love floors like that. DAMN CATS!) Here the owners added lots of colour and kid friendly furnishings to make it energizing and fun. Take out all the colour and add lots of wood, grey and brown and you’ve got another totally different vibe against the black and white. Easy peasy. Via Hus & Hem.

As eclectic as they come

I thought this post might cheer Jo up and make her forget she’s sick. It is an apartment in a converted Victorian school house in London. With alot of re-configuring to make the space more liveable and bright, and some crazy eclectic designs, interior design studio Avocado Sweets turned this space into a super fun, totally creative and full of personality dwelling for the homeowners. Complete with Penguin book cover wall – look familiar Jo?

The Cross Design – Laneway house

I adore this Vancouver home designed by The Cross Design. It’s spunky and feminin and ethnic and OMG the doses of pink throughout! It makes me love pink again. And makes me smile. This is a happy home.

P.S. By the time this post publishes, I should be an aunt for the fourth time. Congrats Jen and Dave! 🙂

Jo gillar Anna Mårselius

I always love visiting interior designer and stylist Anna Mårselius’ blog Anna gillar. This is what I found on my latest visit and I can’t decide which one I like better. I think I might just have to settle for both. Styled by Anna, photographed by Anna Kern for NK Stil.

P.S. Apologies if I got the Swedish wrong 🙂
