Timeless restraint and refinement are at the heart of Templeton Architecture‘s work. Little Parndon was built 1862 but many renovations through the years and a heritage listing necessitated a careful, considered hand to include the needs of modern day living while protecting the buildings rich history. The result is elegant and sophisticated, light filled and simply beautiful.

It’s the juxapostition of old and new, traditional and contemporary, the obvious and the unexpected that is the basis of the creative work of Melissa Jenkinson of interior design and architectural firm Heirloom Studio. As she says “Old interiors capture my soul, contemporary interiors capture at my heart.” The marriage of old and new in this Kentish Town townhouse captures mine as well. Swoon.

White on white … just so right. This Hudson Valley home takes the monochromatic palette to the next level. Light floods through the huge wall of windows highlighting the textural play of stone and wood, rich fabrics and slick metal. But just when you think this is a one trick white on white wonderland watch out for a shout of colour. An eclectic, creative home by New York interior designer Sasha Bikoff.
Interior designer Nuria Alia calls it a Sensory Alarm Clock (it was her design for Casa Decor 2017). A super fun, super sunshiny (is that a word?) place to start your day. Pastel pops and pattern play, shiny metals and sleek velvet all with a nod to Art Deco. What a way to up the energy levels.
