Over the past few weeks I have been dipping in and out of the portfolio of Blakes London for kitchen inspiration. Today I’m back again with a streamlined design that mixes old and new, light and dark all with accents of on trend brass and a touch of retro.

With its decadent mix of contemporary and traditional, deep, dark, dramatic colours balanced by calming white and stunning Sydney Harbour views this over the top Darling Point apartment spans the top floor of a 1930’s grand home. One moment over the top, the next calming and restful. With a hectic work weekend ahead of me this is my virtual escape. I need to spoil myself. You can too. The Darling Point Pad is part of the Contemporary Hotels group.

I have been trying to convince my husband for months now that brass fixtures are HOT. So far I have been unsuccessful, even after showing him the following photos of interior designer Yanic Simard‘s newly renovated kitchen, which is GORG! The existing cabinets were resprayed with Benjamin Moore’s 2062-20 Gentleman’s Grey which has alot of blue undertones. It’s beautiful against the marble counter and backsplash. And to make this kitchen extra special, a faucet with a beautiful custom brass finish and existing cabinet pulls were electroplated to match. They even work with the stainless appliances. I’m sold!

I’m obsessed with gold/brass accents. Mix it with some marble and it’s pretty freaking sexy if you ask me. 🙂 Via Michaelis Boyd.
